RESOLUI`IOr1 OF INTENTION N0. 255,-
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY
OF HUNTIhGTON BEACH DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE
PORTIONS OF ELEVENTH STREET, EIGHT, STREET, SIXTH STREET,
FIFTH STREET, MAGNOLIA AVENUE AND ACACIA AVENUE IN SAID
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, AND PROVIDING THAT THE PROPOSED
WORK BE DONE UNDER "THE IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 19111f .
The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach
do hereby res6lve as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience
of the people of the city of Huntington Beach require, and
that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of said
City to order ghe following stated work to be done and
improvements to be made in said City, to-tit :
(a) That Eleventh Street from a line twehty-two feet
Southwesterly from and paralllel to the Northwesterly line
of Ocean Avenue to a line 28. 5 feet Northeasterly from and
parallel to the Southwesterly line of Main Street; and
Eighth Street from a line 22 feet Southwesterly from and
parallel to the Northeasterly line of Ocean Avenue; to a
line 12 feet Northeasterly from and parallel to the Sogth-
westerly line of Palm Avenue; and Sixth Street from a line
22 feet Southwesterly from and parallel to the Northeaster-
ly line of Ocean Avenue to a line 28.5 feet East of and
paralllel to the .West line of Main Street; and Fifth Street
from a line 22 feet Southwesterly from and parallel to the
Northeasterly line of Ocean Avenue to a line 28.5 East of
and paralllel to the West line of Main Street; and Magno-
lia Avenue from the Southeasterly line of Eleventh Street
• to the Easterly line of Lake Avenue; and Acacia Avenue

from the Southeasterly line of Eleventh Street to a line
28.5 feet East of and paralllel to the West line of Main •
Street; ( excepting from the above described portions of
said Streets Magnolia Avenue from the Southeasterly line
of Sixth to the Northwesterly line of Fifth Street, and
the NorthwesterlAT half of Fifth Street from the North-
easterly line of Orange Avenue to the Southwesterly line
of Miagnolia Avenue, and the Southeasterly half of Sixth
Street from the Northeasterly line of Orange Avenue to the
Southwesterly line of Magnolia Agenue) ; be graded, crowned
paved, capped, oiled, improved and constructed to the offi-
cial grade thereof , in accordance with Specifications No.8p
as provided In Ordinance No. 125. of said City, excepting
said above described portions of Magnolia Avenue and Acacia
Avenue, which portions of said avenues shall be so improved
and constructed to the official grade thereof, in accord-
ance with Specifications No. 10, as provided in Ordinance
No.145 of said City, and all in accordance with plans Nos.
105 and 108, all of which said specifications and plans
are now on file in the office of the City Engineer of the
City of Huntington Beach, and are hereby referred to for
a more Darticular description of said work and improvements.
(b) That a cement widewalk, five feet in width, be
constructed along both- sides of the above described por-
tions of said Streets and Avenues to the official line and

grade, ( excepting such portions of said Streets along
which a cement sidewelk, five feet in width, has already
been constructed and now is to the official line and grade,
and excepting the above described portions of Fifth and
Eleventh Streets, and, exce-.),t_!.n�3 the Iriere-inbef ore ex-
cepted portions of Magnolia Avenue, Fifth Street and
Sixth Street) , all of said cement sidewalks to be con-
structed in accordance with Specifications No. 2, as
adopted by Ordinance No. 29 of said City of Huntington
Beach) for the construction of cement sidewalks in said
City of Huntington Beach, on file in 'the office of the
City Clerk of said City, and in further accordance with
the plans, profiles and cross-sections for said work on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City,
said plans, profiles and cross-secions being numbered 105
and 108, to which specifications, plans, profiles and cross-
sections reference is hereby made for a more particular
description of said work; all of said sidewalks shall be
so constructed that the line of the inner side of the same
shall be one foot from and -parallel to the property line of
the abutting property of each : Street.
W That cement curbs be constructed at grade along
both sides of the above described portions of said Streets
and Avenues, (excepting said portions of Fifth Street and
Eleventh Street, ,and excepting the excepted portions of
Magnolia Avenue, Fifth Street, Sixth Street) , said curbs to
be constructed In accordance with Specifications No. 1 , as
adopted by Ordinance No. 28, of said City of Huntington
Beach, on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City •
and in further accordance with the plans, profiles and cross-
sections, for said work, on file in the office of the City
Engineer of said City; said plans profiles and cross-sections
being numbered 105 and 108, to which specifi.ications, plans,
profiles and cross-sections reference is hereby made for a
more particular description of said work.
(d) That corrugated iron culverts be constructedaacross
and in the above described portions of Eleventh Street,
Eighth Street, Sixth Street and Fifth Street in accordance
with Specifications No. 8 , as adopted by Ordinance No. 125,
of said City of Huntington Beach, and as shown on and in
accordance with the plans , profiles and cross-sections, for
said work, on file in the office of the City Engineer of
said City, said plans, profiles and cross-sections being
numbered 105 and 108, and hereby referred to for a more par-
ticular description of said work and the location of said
culverts.
That corrugated iron culverts be constructed ,across
and in said above described portions of Magnolia Avenue and
Acacia Avenue, in accordance with Specifications No. 11 , as
adopted by Ordinance No. 146, of said City, and at the Places
shown on and in accordance with the plans, profiles and cross
sections, for said work, on file In the office of the City
Engineer of said City; said plans, profiles and cross-sec-
tions being numbered 105 and 108, and hereby referred to for

a more particular description of said work and the lo-
cation of said culverts.
Section 2. That said Board of Trustees do hereby
determine and declare that said nroDosed work and im-
provements are of more than local or ordinary public
benefit and will affect and benefit the lands and disc,;,.'
tricts hereinafter described, and which said district
is hereby declared to be the district affected and ben-
efited by said work and improvements, and that, therefore,
the entire cost and expenses of said work and improvements
shall b e, and are hereby, made chargeable against and
shall be assessable upon said lands and district, which
district is within said City of Huntington Beach, Orange
County, California, and the exterior boundaries of said
district and said lands affected and benefited by said
work, exclusive of the said portions of said Streets to
be improved and exclusive of any land within said bound-
aries which is now a part of the public streets, is par-
ticularly described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the South-
westerly line of Ovean Avenue with the Northeasterly line
Produced of the first alley Northwesterly from Eleventh
Street and running thence Northeasterly along the said
alley line produced to its intersection with the South-
westerly line of Orange Avenue, thence Northwesterly to

the Southwesterly corner of Block 411, thence North-
easterly to the Northwesterly corner of Block 511 , thence
Northeasterly to the intersection of the Northeasterly line
of Acacia, Avenue with the Southeasterly line of the first
alley Northwesterly from Eleventh Street, thence North-
easterly along the said alley line to the Northwesterly
corner of lot 13 of Block 711 , thence Northerly to the
Southwesterly corner of lot 19 of Block 711 , thence North-
easterly to the Northerly corner of the last mentioned lot ,

811, thence Southeasterly to the Northwesterly corner of

Southeasterly line of Tenth Street, thence along the North-
easterly line of Palm Avenue to the Southeasterly corner of
lot 2 of Block 706, thence Southeasterly to the Northwest-
erly corner of Block 605, thence Southerly along the East-
erly line of Main Street to the Southwest corner of lot 20
of Block 504, thence to the SoutheastFoorner of lot 19 of
Block 504, thence east to the quarter section line running
North and South thr6ugh the center of Section 11, T. , 6 S. ,
R. , 11 W. SBB&M, thence South along the last described quar-
ter section line a distance of four hundred and eighty-five
(485) feet to a point, thence westerly to the Southeasterly
corner of lot 15 of Block 403, thence Westerly to the South-
westerly corner of lot 34 of Block 403, thence Southwesterly
to the Southeasterly corner of lot 6 of Block 404, thence
Northwesterly to the Southwesterly corner of said lot 6
of Block 404 thence Southwester) to the Southeasterly

corner of lot 16 of said Block 404, thence Southwesterly
along the Northwesterly line produced of the first alley
Northwesterly from Drain Street to the intersection of the
last mentioned alley line produced with the Southwester-
ly line of Ocean Avenue, thence Northwesterly along the
Southwesterly line of Ocean Avenue to its intersection
with the Southeasterly line produced of the first alley
Northwest from Sixth Street, thence Northeasterly along
the last mentioned alley line produced to the Southwest-
erly corner of lot 15 of Block 406, thence Northwesterly
in a straight line to the Southeasterly corner of lot 16
of Block 407, thence Southwesterly along the Northwest-
erly line produced of the first alley Southeasterly from
Eighth Street to the intersection of the last mentioned
alley line produced with the Southwesterly line of Ocean
Avenue, thence Northwesterly along the Southwesterly line
of Ocean Avenue to its intersection with the Southeaster-
ly line produced of the first alley Northwesterly from
Eighth Street, thence Northeasterly along the last men-
tioned alley line produced to the Tzbuthwesterly corner of
lot 15 of Block 408, thence Northwesterly in a straight
line to the Southeasterly corner of lot 16 of Block 410,
thence Southwesterly along the Northwesterly line produced
of the first alley Northeasterly from Eleventh Street, to
the intersection of the last mentioned alley line produced
with the Southwesterly line of Ocean Avenue, thence along

the Southwesterly line of Ocean Avenue to the place of
beginning; all of vihich said lots and Blocks are shown
•
on maps on file in the Records of Orange County, Calif-
ornia, Blocks 406, 407, 408, 410, 411 and 511 are shown
on man ofjH- untington Beach, on page 10 of book 4 of Misc-
ellaneous Maps, Blocks 711, 611 , 810, 910 and 706 are
shown on a. map of Wesley Park Tract, on page 16 of book 5,
Miscellaneous Maps; Blocks 605, 504, 403 and 404 are shown
on a Man of Huntington Beach, Main Street Section on page
43 of book 4, Miscellaneous Maps Records of Orange County,
California, (excepting therefrom Block 405, belonging to
Huntington Beach School District and occupied by Hunting-
ton Beach Gra#1rhar School, and excepting therefrom all lands
within said boundaries now a part of the public streets of
said City of Huntington Beach.
Section 3, That serial bonds shall be issued to rep-
resent assessments of $25.00 or over, for the cost and ex-
Dense of said work and improvements; said serial bonds shall
extend over a. period of nine years from the 2nd, of January
next succeeding their date, and an even annual portion of
the principal sum thereof shall be payable, by coupons, on
the 2nd. day of January every year after their date, until
the whole is paid, and the interest shall be payable semi-
annually, by coupons, on the 2nd. day of January and July,
respectively, of each year at the rate of seven per cent
per annum, on all sums unpaid, until the whole of said prin-
cipal and interest are paid.

Section 4. All of said work shall be done in accord-
ance with the said plans and specifications heretofore
adopted for doing work o f the office

Section 5. The City Clerk shall cause this Resolu-
tion of Intention to be publisl-led twice in the Huntington
Beach News, a weekly newspaper published and circulated
in said City, and hereby designated for that purpose by
said Board of Trustees.
Section 6. The Street Superintendent of said City
shall immediately cause to be conspicuously posted, along
the line of said contemplated work and improvements and
in front of all of the property liable to be assessed,
notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention
in the manner and form required by lair.
Section 7. All of the herein proposed work shall be
done in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State
of California, designated as the Improvement Act of 1911 ,
approved April 7th, 1911.
