A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Huntington Beach, California , Declaring
its Intention to Improve a. Portion of Huntington
,Avenue in said City, and Providing that the
Proposed work be done under "The Improvement
Act of 1911. "
The Board of Trusties of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, does hereby resolve E.s follows:
Section 1. That the -Public interest and convenience re-
quire, and that- it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of
said City of Huntington Beach to order, the follov.Ting stated work
to be done and improvements to be made in said City, to-wit:
( a) That Huntington Avenue from a line twelve feet South
from and parallel to the 17orth line of Detroit Street, to a line
twelve feet r'orth from and parallel to the South line of Lincoln
Street, be graded, cro,,-med, paved, capped, surfaced, oiled, im-
proved and cons tr^acted to t "e official grade thereof, in accord-
ance with specifications No. 10, as provided and adopted in Ordi-
nance Yo. 145 of said City on file in the office of the City Clerk
Of s id City, and in .-ccorda,nce �3ith pl,=ns , profiles and. cross-
sections for said v-,ork numbered 114 and 107, on file in the office
of the City Engineer of said City, to r,hich specifications, plans,
profiles and. cross-sections reference is hereby made for a, more par-
t,icular description of s =i C work.
(b) That cement curbs be constructed at grade along both
. sides of the P,00ve described portion of said Avenue in accord-
ance 71'ith specifications Yo. 1, as adopted by Ordinance No. 28,
of o.-Ad City of Huntington 73e,,,�.ch, on file in the office of the
City Clerk ,:)f said City, and in accordance with the -)ions , pro-
files cross-sect-ions for sEid work on file in the office of
the Engineer of said City, said plans , profiles and cross-
sect-ions beinE,,, nuimbered- 114 !-,nd 107; to which seLf; specifica-
tions, plans, profiles End cross-sectic,ns reference is hereby
ri',&de foi° a more oerticular descl-ii-tion of slid work.
( c) That a cement side-walk, five feet in iridth, be con-
structed -long both si'le's of the above described portion of se-Ad
Avenue to the official line and E;r,.7_de , ( excepting such -portions
of said ;portion of said. Avenue alon-, which a cement si6.e-v7,-,lk
five feet in width, has already been constructed, and now is to the
official lii--,.e and grode) ; sair-1 cement oid-e-walks to be constructed
in accordance with S-)ecifications 1To. 2, as adooted by Ordinance
29 ) of said City, for construction of ce'-.1ent side-calks in
said City, on file in the of-f ice of the City Clerk of saiCk City,
and in further accordance with t.,)-e plans, -profiles ancl.. cross-sec-
tions for s!-I.id work on file in the of "ice of the City Engineer of
said City, said Tolans, profiles and cross-sections being numbered
114 and 107) 11,1-o which specifications, plans, --rofiles and cross-
sections reference Is hereby made for a ,iore -particular descript-lon
of sFi1_-1'1 rrork; all of sai6 side-1-1,alks shall be constructed so that
the line of the inner sine, of the some shall be one foot from end

(d) That corrugated iron culverts be constructed across

146, of said City, and in accordance vith and as shorl,n in the
plans, profiles and cross-sections for said work numbered 114
and 107, on file in the of "ice of the City Engineer of said City,
and said specifications, -)lans , profiles and cross-sections are
hereby referred to for a more -oarticular description of said work.
Section 2. That said Board of Trustees does hereby determine
and declare tht.t said oro-Posed :ork and improvements are of more
than local or ordinary public benefit and will affect and benefit
the lands and district hereinafter described, and said district
is hereby declF.red to be the district affected and benefited by
said work and ir1pi,ovements, ant_ thEt , therefore, the entire cost
,,,nd, expenses of iC a work and improvements shall be, and are here-
by, made chargea-Ole a:'�:,ainst and shall be assessable upon said lands
and district , which district is within said City of Huntington
Beach, Orange County, California, and the exterior boundaries of
s,-id district and of lends affected and benefited by said work,
exclusive of the said ,portion of said Avenue to '()e improved and
exclusive of any land within said boundaries which is now a -part
of the public streets, is particularly described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Huntington Aven-.Ie and
Detroit Street and running thence rthiTes+-erly to a point on the

the 1.7est line of Huntington Avenue; thence Northerly and parallel
to the ''Test line of Huntington Avenue to a. point on the South line
of Frankfort Street; thence Northeesterly to the intersection of
ti'lle North line of Frankfort Street v!ith the East line of the first
alley "Test from Huntington Avenue; thence along the East line of

said last mentioned alley to its intersection with the North line •
of Lincoln Street ; thence ]ast along the North line of Lincoln
Street to its intersection vrith the lest line of the first alley
east from H, ntingtor, avenue; thence South along; the 'Vest line of
said last mentioned alley to its intersection with the South line
of Detroit Street; thence 'p est to the point of be;inning.
Section 3: That serial bonds slLia.11 be issued to represent
assessments of $25.00, or over, for the cost and ex-pense of said
vTork and improvements; said serial bonds shall extend over a ber-
iod of nine years from the 2nd da.y of January next succeeding
their date , and an even annual portion of t -e ?)rincipa.l sum there-
of shall be paya�le by coupons on the 2nd day of January every
year after their dr te, until the v7hole is -paid, and the interest
shall be payable semi-annually by coupons on the 2nd day of Jan-
uary anfL the 2nd day of July, respectively, of each year at the
rate of seven _Der cent. per annur , on all sums unpaid, until the
whole of s .id -,principal and interes b are paid.
Section 4. The City Clerk of said City shall cause this
Resolution of Intention to be -published tG,,ice in the Huntington
Beach 11eFs, a reekl�. newspaper >ublished enc circulated in said
City ar. i hereby designated for t la,t ourpose by said Pjoard of
Trustees.
Section 5. Tha- the Street SuUerintendent of sFid City
shall imr.ediately cause to be conspicuously Hosted along the line
of said contem-plated 77ork an'I".. im�orovements and in front of all of
the -property liable to be assessed, and along all the Streets
=rithin the aforesaid District , at not more t1rian 300 feet in dis-
tance apart and not less than three in all on each Street, notices

of the nassag e of this Resolution of Intention in the manner and
form required by law.
Section 6. All of the said proposed work shall be done in
rursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated as the Ini-orovement Act of 1911, a-) proved April 7th,
1911.
