The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, do hereby resolve as follo�-,_Ts:
Section 1. That, whereas, the said Board did on the 8th
day of 1-arch, 1915, pass and adopt Resolution No. 260, declaring

Be It Resolved, that the public interest and convenience
recuire the work herein described, and the Board of Trustees of tke
said City of Huntington Beach hereby orders the follovrinp_ described

( a) That Huntington avenue froze a line twelve feet South
from and parallel to tree INTorth line of Detroit Street, to a line
t1relve feet north from and parallel to the So _ith line of Lincoln
Street, be graded, crowned, paved, ca:nped, surfaced, oiled, im-
proved and constructed to the official grade thereof, in accord-
ance erith Specificat-ions 17o. 10, as nrovided and adopted in Ordi-
now
Hance No. 145 of said_ Citl`on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said City, and in accordance with -Plans , -Profiles and, cross-
sections for said work numbered 114 and 107 , on file in the office
of the City Engineer of s _id City, to which specifications , plans,
Profiles ana cross-sections reference is hereby made for a more par-
ticular description of said work.
(b) That cement curbs be eonstructed at grade along both
sides of the above described iDortion of said- avenue in accord-
ance iR,ith Specifications _77o. 1, as adonted by Ordinance Yo. 28,
of said. City of Huntinxto,i Beach, on file in the office of the
City Clerk of said City, and in accordance E7,=ith t'rie plans, pro-
files and cross-sections for said 1-ork on file in the office of
the City Engineer of said City, said plans, profiles End cross-
sections being numbered 114 and 107; to «!hich said specifica-
tions, Mans, profiles and cross sections reference is hereby
made for a more Darticular descri-Ption of said T-ork.

( c) That a. cement side-walk, five feet in width, be con-
structed along° both sides of tl:,e above described portion of said
avenue to the off'icia.l line and grade, ( exce?atin such ?portions
of sc.L" portion of said Avenue alonE- which a cement side-walk,

ed in accordance with Specifics ions T'o. 2, as adopted by Ordinance

( d) That corrugated iron culverts be constructed across
and in the abo-ve described nortior? of said Hulitin€;ton avenue, in
III accordance v^rith Specifications No. 11, as adopted by Ordinance No.
146, of said City, and in accordance frith and as shoe=n in the
plans, profiles and cross-sections for said work numbered 114
and 107, on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City,
and said specifications, plans , profiles and cross-sections are
hereby refers°ed to for a more particular description of said work.

• Section 2. Tha.t said Board of Trustees does hereby determine
and declare that said pro-posed work a:'d improvements are of more
than local or ordinary public benefit and vTill of :'ect and benefit
the lands and district hereinafter described, and said district
is hereby declared to be the district affected and benefited by
said work and imT,)rovements, and that, therefore, the entire cost
and expenses of s,- i61 i-ork and imnrovements shal be, an-7 are here-
by, made chargeable a,�;ainst and shall be assessaUle upon said lands
and district, which district is 7,, thin said City of Huntington
Beach, Orange County, California, and t o exterior boundaries of
said distri--t and of lands affected and benefited by said work,
exclusive of the s,-�id portion of said Avenue to be improved and
exclusive of any land within said boundaries which is no,,,,, a. part
of the public streets, is particularly described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Huntington Avenue and
Detroit Street a,nt run.lin�; thence 1Jorthrresterly to a point on the
north line of Detroit Street, -�77 ich Joint is 200 feet ,;est from
the `.Test line of Huntington ;venue; thence northerly e.nd parallel

Section 3. That serial bonds shall be issued to represent
assessments of $25.00, or over, for the cost and expense of said
works and im-provements; said serial bonds shall extend over !_c. per-
iod of nine years from Vne 2nd day of January next succeedin ,

Section 4. That all of the said work shall be done in ac-
cordance =uith the aforesaid plans, profiles, cross-sections and
specific-tions, and shall be done in pursuance of and in accord-
ance with the -orovisions of an act of the legislature of the State
of California, designated s the "Iamroveynent Act of 1911, 11 approv-
ed April 7. 1911.
Section 5. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to post
not-ices of s,;D.icL vrork, toz et..-er ,fi!ith the plans and specifications
t'L-ie.,.-'efor, conspicuously, for five days on or near the council
chamber door, to-wit: The front door of the City Hall in the City
of Huntington Beach, California, inviting sealed proposal,,7 or bids
for doing the work ordered; and he is directed to publish: a notice
inviting such pro nola.ls, referrin, to the specifications posted or
on file, in tvro consecutive issues of the Huntington Beach news,
a weekly newspaper -published and circulated in said City of Hunting-
ton Beach, and hereby designated for that purpose; that the time

fixed in said notices for t-heopening of bids shall be not less than
ten days from the time of the first publication, or ?posting, of
said notices; that the proposals or bids offered shall be accompanied
by a check, payable to the City, certified by a responsible bank
for an amount, x-^hich shall be not less than ten per cent. of the
aggregate of the proposal, or by a bond for the said amount and so
payable, signed by the bidder and tvo sureties , who shall- justify
before an of`: icer com-oetent to administer an oath in double the
said amount, and over and above all statutory exemptions.
