A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, Declaring its intention
to order the construction of servers along and in certain
Streets, Alleys end Public Nays in said City of
Huntington Beach, and providing that the oroposed work
be done under the 'Improvement Act of 1911. 11
- The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do
hereby resolve, as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience requires
and that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the
said City to order, the following stated and described work to
be done and improvement to be made in said city, to-wit:
That sewers be constructed for sanitary purposes along and
in certain Streets, Alleys and Public Ways in said City, the center
line of said severs being described as follows, to-wit:
Commencing In -the first alley Easterly from Main Street at
a point four and a half feet Northeasterly from the Southwesterly
line of the first alley Northeasterly from Ocean Avenue, which
ipoint is four and a half feet Southeasterly from the Northwester-
ly line produced of the first alley Northwesterly from Third
Street; running thence Northeasterly and Northerly in said first
mentioned alley along a line four and a half feet Southeasterly
and Easterly from and parallel to the Northwesterly and Westerly
line of said first mentioned alley to a point in the center line
of Eleventh Street;
Also, commencing at a point in the first alley Northwesterly
from Second Street four and a half feet Northeasterly from the
Southwesterly line of the first alley Northeasterly from Ocean
Avenue, which point is four and a half feet Southeasterly from
the ITorthti,resterly line .produced of the first alley 1,Torthi7esterly
from Second Street; running thence Northeasterly along a line
four and a half feet Southeasterly from and parallel to the
Nlorthwesterly line of the first alley '?orthwesterly from Second
Street to a point eighteen feet Southwesterly from the South-
westerly line of Orange Avenue.
Also, coruiencing at a n_ oint in the first alley south of
easterly
Eleventh Street, four and one half feet/from the "lesterly
line of the first alley easterly from Slain Street , which
point is four and one Ralf feet northerly from the southerly line
produced of the first alley south of Eleventh Street; running;
thence easterly in s.. id last mentioned alley along a line four
and a half feet northerly from and parallel to the southerly line
of said last mentioned alley to a point twenty feet viest of the
vrest line of Lake Avenue.
Also, cor_uaencing at a point in the first alley south of
Tenth Street, four and one half feet easterly from the VIesterly
line of the first alley easterly from I ain Street, which point
is four and one half feet northerly from the southerly line
produced of the first alley south. of Tenth Street; running
thence easterly in said last mentioned alley along a line four
and a half feet northerly from and parallel to the southerly
line of said last mentioned alley to a point twenty feet west of
the wrest line of Lake Avenue.
The said setivers shall be constructed, and the work of
constructing the same shall be done, in accordance with certain
plans, profiles and specifications and clareful estimates of the
costs axid expenses thereof, heretofore prepared and furnished

to the City Council of spill. City by the City Engineer of said •
City, the said snecifications being specifications No. 9 , as
adoi)ted P.nd nrovided by Ordinance No. 143 of said City, and the
said plans and profiles being numbered 116, 200, 205, 207 , 208,
and 209; all of said plans, -profiles and specifications being
now on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of
Huntington ;reach, and each and all of said plans , profiles and
specifications are hereby referred to for a more particular
description of said -pro-posed worll,L; and it is proposed that the
denth, size, material, manner of cons t-.,--uct ion and location of
said sei-,Ters shall be in accordance with the aforesaid -plans,
-orofiles and s-oecifications.
Section 2. The said Board of Trustees hereby determines
and declares that se%id -,proposed ir.rork and imorovement is of
more than local or ordinary public benefit; that said proposed
sewers will be located near together and rill connect with the
same main line and form portions of the same general sewer
system of said City a-rid will affect and benefit the lands and
district hereinafter described, and v!hich said district is
thereby declared to be the district affected and benefited by
said work and improvement, and that, therefore, the entire cost
and expense of said vork and im-provement shall be, and are
hereby, made chargeable against and stall be assessable upon
said lands and district, which district is rithin the City of
Huntington Beach, County of Orange, State of California, and
the exterior boundaries of said district and of said lands
affected and benefited by said work and improvement, exclusive
Of any land within said boundaries vhich is now a -part of the

public streets, alleys and ways, are particularly described as
follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the Southeasterly
line of ,1'ain Street with the Southwesterly line of the first
alley Northeasterly from Ocean Avenue, -.nd running thence North-
easterly and Northerly along the Southeasterly and Easterly line
of -'ain Street to its intersection with the North line of
Eleventh Street, thence along the North line of Eleventh Street
to its intersection with the VIest lire of Lake Avenue , thence
South along the Wrest line of Lake Avenue to its intersection
with the Southeasterly line of Third Street; thence Southwesterly
along; the Southeasterly line of Third Street to its intersection
with the Northeasterly line of Orange Avenue, thence along the
Northeasterly line of OranE;e Avenue to its intersection with the
West line of Lake ' Avenue, thence youth to the intersection of
the 'r"est line of Lake Avenue with the Northwesterly line of
Second Street, thence Southwesterly along the Northwesterly
line of Second Street, to its intersection with the Southwesterly
line of the first alley Northeasterly from Ocean Avenue; thence
Northwesterly along the last described alley line to the point
of beginning.
Section 3. That serial bonds shall be issued to represent
assessments of $25.00, or over, for the cost and expense of
said work and improvement; that said serial bonds shall extend
over a period of nine years from the 2nd day of January next
succeeding their date, and an even annual portion of the
principal sum thereof shall be payable, by coupons, on the Qnd
day of January every year after their date, until the whole is

paid. and t �e interest snail be payable semi-annually, by
coupons, on the 2nd dLy of January and July, respectively, of
each year, at the rate of seven per cent. per annum, on all
sums unpaid, until the whole of said -principal and interest are
-paid.
Section 4. All of said work shall be done in accordance
ir!ith the aforesaid plans, profiles and specifications, heretofore
Prepared and furnished by the City Engineer of said City and
adopted for the doing of said work, and which are no�! on file
in the office of the City Enc-ineer of spid 'City, and are hereby

referred to for further and more particular description of said
work.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall cause this Resolution of
Intention to be nublished twice in the Huntington Beach News ,
a weekly newspaper published and circulated in saiif, City, and
hereby designated for that purpose by said Board of Trustees.
Section 6. The Street Superintendent of said City shall
immediately cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of
said conterx-plated ,-,!ork and improvement, and in front of all
the nro-oerty liable to be assessed, notices of the passage of
this Resolution of Intention in the manner and form required
by lay.r.
Section .411, of the said proposed ir.,ork and improvement
shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of
the State of California, designated as the Improvement Act of
1911, approved April 7, 1911.

No. 263A was read and adopted; however, the Resolution states it was introduced and adopted on
4/12/1915. There is no mention of Resolution No. 263A in the minutes of 4/12/1915. This is a noted
inconsistency in the original referenced documents.
