RESOLUTION NO. 282 14
A Resolution ordering the work, Pursuant to
Resolution of Intention No. 277 of the Board
of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, do hereby resolve, as follows:
Resolved, t":at whereas the Board of Trustees of said City
of Huntington Beach did on tcie llth day of October, 1915, pass
its Resolution of Intention No. 277, to order the hereinafter
described work to be done and improvements to be mnade in said City
of Huntington Beach, which Resolution of Intention was duly and
regularly published as required by law, as appears by the affidavl
of Jas. J. Conrad, now on file in the office of the City Clerk of
the City of Huntington Beach; and whereas, notices of the -,)as,oa`e
of said Resolution of Intention No. 277 , headed Notices of Improve
m.ent were duly and leg .11y .hosted by the Street Superintendent of
said City along the line of said contemplated work and improvement
and. in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor,
in form and manner as required by law, immediately after the
public,.=.tion of said Resolution of Intention, as ap,?ears by the
affidavit of J. Tinsley, Street Superintendent of the said City of
I'untington Beach, who, upon the co_apletion of the posting of said
notices forthwith, filed said affidavit in the office of the City
Clerk of said City, making oath that he completed the posting of
said notices on the 27 day of October, 1915; and whereas
more than fifteen days have expired since the day of the second

Resolved, that the -public interest and convenience
require the vrork herein described, an6 tlae Board of Trustees of

That sewers be constructed for s,-:.nitary 7,urooses along and
in certain Streets , Alleys and Public Ways in said City, the cen-
ter lines of said sevrers being described as follows, to-wit:
Commencing in the first alley North�,,!esterly from Fourteenth
Street at a -point four and one-half feet Northeasterly from the
Southresterly line of the first alley Northeasterly from Ocean
Avenue , which point is four and one-half feet Southeasterly from
the .17jorthresterly line T)roduced of the first alley _',Torth�rTesterly
from Fourteenth Street; runnin--, thence 17ortheasterly in se-id first
mentioned alley along a line four and one-half feet Southeasterly
from and parallel to the 11orthwesterly line of said first mention-
ed alley to a -point in the center line of Palm Avenue.

bein numbered 126, 2001 205 2021 208, 207 and 204; all of said
plans, profiles ancs specifications being; now on file in the office
of` the City -EnEineer of said City of Huntin�-,;ton Beach, and each and

Section 2. That said Board of Trustees hereby determines

Section 5. The City Clerk of said City shall cause this Res-
olution of Intention to be published 'uc,!ice in the Huntington Beach

saif, city, and hereby desinsted by said Board of Trustees for
that nurDose.
Section 6. The Street Superintendent of said City shall
fort1h,:,!ith cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said
cont em-olated work, and improvement , at not more than 500 feet in

distance apart, but not less than three in all, and alonr all the
open streets within s,A,9_ district, at not more than 300 feet in
distance -,mart, but not less t?).am three in all on each street,
notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention In the man-:
ner and form rec!uired by law which notices shall contain also a.
statement of the dey, hour an(--'L place when and where any and all per-
sons havin_� any objections to tu.'rie proposed work or improvements may
an earbefore the said Board of Trustees and sho,!! cause why s,,id
proposed i!,ork and im-orovements should not be carried out in accord-
ance with this Resolution.
Section 7.. All the herein proposed work and im-orovements
and all T)roceedinc--;-s taken in regard thereto shall be in pursuance
of and In accordance with the aforesaid Act of the LeEJslature of
the State of California, desL�mat-ed as the "Im-rovement Act of
191111 , an—proved April 7th, 1911, and the several acts amendatory
thereof.
Be it furU'.]er resolved, that the City Clerk of said City is
hereby directed to post notices of said �,,iork, tog-ether rith the
specifications therefor, conspicuously for five days on or near
the Council Charabe-.,7, door of t-,_e City Council, or Board of Trustees
of said City, to- ,,it: The front door of the City Hall in said
City of Huntington Beach, inviting; sealed proposals or bids for
doing, the work ordered; and said City Clerk is directed to publish
a. notice invitinC_r such proposals and referi,in,,7,,' to the specifications
hosted, or on file , twice in the Huntington Beach Neirys, a weekly
news-paper published and circulated in the City of Huntington
Beach, and hereby designated for thet nurpose , and it is ordered

that the tide fixed for the openi S of said proposals or bids
shall be not less than ten days from the time of the first pub-
lice,tion or oostin. of said notice.
Be it further resolved, that all proposals or bids offered
for doins•; s,-id work shall be accompanied by a check, ns.yable to
toe City, certified by a responsible bani, for an amount which
shall not be less than ten ner cent of the a�;gre-a.te of the
?proposal, or by a bond for the said amount , and so payable,
signed by the bidder and two sureties, who shall ,justify before
an officer competent to administer an oath, in double said
amount, and over and above all statutory exemptions.
