HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 292A 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2 A Resolution by the Board of Trustees of the City 3 1 of Huntington Beach, California, changing the names of 4 Certain Streets in said City. 5 The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, s California, do hereby resolve as follows: 7 Whereas the resent naves of certain p portions of 8 certain streets in the City of Huntington Beach are confusing, and 9 on that account not desirable, and should be changed, therefore, 10 It is hereby resolved, that the names of those streets 11 i and portions of streets hereinafter mentioned and describedshall be 12 and are hereby, changed, as hereinafter set forth: 13 1. The name of that prpti�an of Edgeware Boulevard 14 extending from the produced Northwesterly line of Fourteenth Street 15 r to Main Street, shall° be and is hereby changed to and hereafter shal 1 16 be called Fourteenth Street. 17 2/ The name of that portion of that certain street extend- 181I in from Ed Boulevard to g eware g Lesley Avenue, and lying between Blocks 19 ! numbered 816, 916, and 1016, on the West side and Blocks numbered 815, 20 915 and lGa 5 on the East -side is changed to, and hereafter shall be, 21 Sixteenth Street. 22 1 3. The name of that portion of that certain Street extend- 23 ing from Loma Avenue to Wesley Avenue and lying between Blocks numbered 24 1017 and 1018 is changed to, and hereafter shall he, Eighteenth Stree 25 I 4 The name of that protion of that certain street extend- 26 ` ing from Crest Avnnue to .Wesley Avenue, and lying between". Blcoles 27 numbered 917 and 919 and between 1018 and 1D19, hereafter shall be 281 Wineteenth Street, 29 All of the above mentioned and described streets and blocks 30 being situated in the Wesley Heights Subdivision of Huntington Beach, 31 as shown on a map recorded in Book 4, at page 23 of Miscellaneous Maps, 32 Records of Orange County, California. { � r 1 5. The name of that certain street known as Lake Avenue 2 and extending from the intersection of First Street with the right of 3 way of the Southern Pacific Railway to Seventeenth Street shall be, and 4 is hereby, changed to Lake Street; Lake Avenue above referred to be1mg 5 shown on these certain maps recorded in the office of the County 6 Recorder of Orange County in Book at page 3 G of Miscellaneous 7 Maps, and in Book4 at page of Miscellaneous Maps, and in 8 Look , at page of Miscellaneous Maps. 9 6. The Street Superintendent of said City shall forthwith cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement, at not more than 300 feet in distance apart, but not less than three in all, and along all the open streets within said district, at not more than 300 feet in distance apart, but not less than three in all on each street, notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in the manner and form required by law, which notices shall contain also a statement of the day, hour and place when and where any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvements may appear before the said Board of Trustees and show cause why said proposed work and improvements should not be carried out in accordance with this Resolution, . Section 7. All the herein proposed work and improvements and all proceedings taken in regard thereto shall be in pursuance of and in accordance with the aforesaid Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated as the "Improvement Act of 1911" , approved April 7th, 1911, and the several acts amenda- tory thereof.
