The Board of Trustees of the City of Hunting tonBe=ch,
C<Plifornia , do hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That t e public interest and convenience require
and th-.t it is t- ;.e intentio . of the Board of Trustees of sz ,id City
to order the following described `cork to be done and improvement to
be made in and- upon ce °tain streets, daces and public ways in
said City to-writ :
a. That Seventeenth Street from a line twenty-two �22)
feet Southwesterly from and -parallel to the wortheasterly line of
Ocean Avenue to the vlesterly line of I a.in Street be graded, crowned,
paved, ct need, surfaced, oiled, improved and constructed to the
official grade thereof, in accordance with Specifications No. 8 as
_provided and ad.o-pted in Ordinances numbered 125 and 164 of said City,
now on file in the office of the City Cle-_k of said City, and in
accordance with ;plans, profiles and cross-sections for said_ work
and improvement numbered 136 and 113 on file in the office of the
City En ;ineer of said City, to inrhich specifications, ?Mans, profiles
and cross-sections reference is hereby made for a more particular
description of said work.
b. That corrugated iron culverts and concrete catch-b,,sins
be constructed across and in the abo"e described portions of Seven-

teenth Street in accordance isrith Specifications ;:To. 8 as adopted
and rrovided in Ordinances numbered 125 and 164 of said City, and
at the places and as shown on and in accordance with the said Mans,
profiles and cross-sections for said work herein before referred to
and on file in the office of. the City Engineer of said City to which
reference is herebly made for a more -)articular description of said
work and the location of said culverts and catch-basins.
c. That concrete gas light -posts fitted with gas lamps, brack-
ets, regulators , nines and all accessory fixtures thereto be con-
structed and erected in and upon Seventeenth Street from a line
tirenty-two ( 22) feet Southwesterly from and -)arallel to the North-
easterly line of Ocean ,Avenue to the Easterly line of Delaware Ave-
nue in accordance with Specifications 11o. 14 as adopted and provided
by Ordinance 17o. 173 of said City, now on file in the office of the
City Clerk of said City, and at the -)laces , and as shown on and in
accordance vI -h the -Volans and profiles for said work and improvement
numbered 136, 115 and 117 on file in the office of the City Engineer
of said City, to vThich specifications, t-)lans and profiles reference
is hereby made for a. more ;,articular description -of said work and the
location of said light posts.
d. That iron pine conduits be laid and constructed in, on,
under and along the last above described po,rtien of Peventeenth
Street in accordance tiaith Specifications ITo. 14 as adopted and pro-
vided by Ordinance 11,To. 173 of said City now on file in the office of
the City Clerk of said City, and as shown on and in accordance tirri th
plans and profiles 1"Iumbers 136, 115 and 117 for said work now on file
in the office of the City Engineer of said City, to which Specifi-
cations, Plans and Profiles reference is hereby made for a more Dar-
ticular description of said work and the location of said conduit
and conductor.
Section 2. That all OF the herein -,,)roT)osed arid improve-
ment shall be done and -,.:,ade in pursuance of an Act of the Legisla-
ture of the State of California. entitled,
"An Act to provide for work in and

approved April 7th, 1911,

also in accorde.lice v,ith the specifications, profiles, plans and
cross-sections herein referred to.
Section 3. Mat in the opinion of the said Board of Trustees
the said -orolnosed and contemplated T_,ork and improvements are , and
said Board of Trustees does hereby determine and declare that said
proposed contemplated -worlk End improvements are of more than local
or ordinary public benefit and ,,rill affect and benefit the lands
and district hereinafter described, which district is hereby de-
clared to be the district affected and benefited by said ,,,ork and ,
improvements, and th,,.,,t the entire cost -and expense of said ir,,I-orove-
ments shall be chargeable against and assessed upon said lands and
district which district is within the City of Huntington Beach,
County of Orange, State of C^lifornia, and that the exterior boun-
daries of the said lands an(ft district affected and benefited by

mines that serial bonds shall be issued to represent assessments
of $25.00, or over, for the cost anC. exnense of saidl, 7.,ork and im-
provements; that said serial bonds shall extend over a period of
nine years from the 2nd day of January next suddeeding their date
and an even annual proportion of the Drincipal sum- thereof shall be
payable, by cotupon, on the 2nd day of January every year s.:Loter their
date, until the -.,hole is paid, and the interest shall be payable semi-
annually, by coupon, on the 2nd day of January and July respectively
of each year at the rate of seven -oer cent -oer annum on all sums un-
paid until the whole of said principal and interest are paid.

Section 5. That notice is hereby given that on the 14th day
of .August, 1916, at the hour of eight 61cloek P. M. of said day at
the City Hall in said City of Huntington 3ea:,ch, any and all persons

Section 6. The Cit,T, Cler'L of said City s=- all cause this
Resolution of Intention to Ole oublished thrice in the Hunting_-ton
Peas"rs 'evrs, a il!eekly newspa,, er printed, 7)ubiished and circulated
in said City, and hereby design,-ted by said Board of Trustees for
that Durpose.
Section 7. The Street Superintendent of su-1id. City shall
forthwith cause to be conspicuously posted along' the line of said
contemplp ted v ork and improvement at not more than 300 feet in
distalice apart , 'but not less than three in all , and along all the
open streets in said district at not more than 300 feet in distance
apart, but not less than three in all on each street, notices of
the passage of this Resolution of Intention in the manner and form
required by low, which notices shall contain also a, statement of
the day, hour anc place when ano. where any and all persons having
objections to t e Proposed rork or improvements may appear before
the said Board of Trustees t nu shove cause why said proposed work
and improvements should not be carried o"Ut in accordance with this
resolution.
Section S. ,All of the herein proposed work and improvements
and all proceedin, s taken in regard thereto shall be in pursuance
