RESOLUTION NO. 310.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, declaring their intention to
improve a portion of Main Street in the City of Huntington
Beach, and determining that bonds shall be issued to rep-
resent the cost thereof, and declaring said work of im-
provement to be of more than local or ordinary public ben-
efit, and that the cost and expense of said work shall be
assessed upon a district.
Be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of
Huntington Beach:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience
require and that it is the intention of the Board of Trust-
ees of the City of Huntington Beach to order the following
work to be done, to-wit:
That reinforced concrete gas lighting posts fitted with
gas lamps, brackets, regulators, all accessory fixtures there-
to, together with the construction and installation of iron
pipe conduits to deliver gas to the posts, and all access-
ory fixtures thereto be constructed, erected and installed
in, under and upon Main Street, and in, under and upon the
park-way spaces in the center of Main Street , from the center
line of Summit Avenue, (formerly Clay Street) , the North City

boundary line, to the Southwesterly line of Ocean Avenue in
the City of Huntington Beach in accordance with Specifications
No. 17, and at the places and in the manner shown on and in
accordance with plans and cross-sections for said work No.140,
No. 115 and No. 117.
Section 2. The plans and cross-sections referred to in
this resolution are on file in the office of the City Engineer
of said city. The Specifications referred to in this resolu-
tion are on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
Said plans, cross-sections and specifications are hereby re-
ferred to for the more particular description of said work
and made a part hereof.
Section 3. That the said contemplated work of improve-
ment in the opinion of the said Board of Trustees is of more
than local or ordinary public benefit and said Board of Trust-
ees hereby declares that the district in the said City of
Huntington Beach to be benefited by said work of improvement
and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense thereof is here-
by described as follows;
All that portion of the City of Huntington Beach included
within the following described exterior boundary lines, to-wit;
Beginning at a point on the Southwesterly line of Ocean
Avenue, which point is in the produced Southeasterly line of
the first alley Northwesterly from Main Street, and running
thence Northeasterly along the Southeasterly line of the first
alley Northwesterly from Main Street and along said alley line

produced to its intersection with the Southeasterly line of
Fifth Street, thence in a straight line to the point of inter-
section of the Southwesterly line of Magnolia. Avenue with the
Northwesterly line of Fifth Street, thence Northwesterly in
a straight line to the point of intersection of the North-
easterly line of magnolia Avenue with the Easterly line of
the first alley Westerly from Main Street, thence Northerly
along the Easterly Line of the first alley Westerly from
Paa.a.in Street to the point of intersection of said last ment-
ioned alley line with the Southeasterly line of Sixth Street,
thence Northeasterly in a straight line to a point on the
Northwesterly line of Sixth Street, which point is fifty (50)
feet Southwesterly from the Southwesterly line of Acacia Ave-
nue measured along the Northwesterly line of Sixth Street,
thence Northwesterly in e.. straight line, which line is fifty
(50) feet Southwesterly from and parallel to the Southwest-
erly line of Acacia Avenue to a point on the Southeasterly
line of the first alley Northwesterly from Sixth Street,
thence Northeasterly along said last mentioned alley line to
a point on the Southwesterly line of Acacia Avenue, thence
Northeasterly in a straight line to the point of intersection
of the Northeasterly line of Acacia. Avenue with the Easterly
line 6f the first alley Westerly from Main Street, thence
Northerly along the Easterly line of the first alley Wester-
ly from Main Street to the point of interserttton of said last
mentioned alley line with they_Southeasterly line of Seventh
Street, thence Northeasterly in a. straight line to a point on
the Northwesterly line of Seventh Street, which point is fifty

(50) feet Southwesterly from the Southwesterly line of Palm
Avenue measured along the Northwesterly line of Seventh Street,
thence Northwesterly in a straight line, which line is fifty
( 50) feet Southwesterly from and parallel to the Southwester-
ly line of Palm Avenue to a point on the Southeasterly line
of the first alley Northwesterly from Seventh Street, thence
Northeasterly along said last mentioned alley line to a point
on the Southwesterly line of Palr; Avenue, thence Northwester-
ly in a straight line to the point of intersection of the
Northeasterly line of Palm Avenue with the Northeasterly line
of the first alley Southwesterly from Main Street, thence North-
westerly along the said last mentioned alley line to its point
of intersection with the Southeasterly line of the first alley
Southeasterly from Crest Avenue, thence Westerly in a straight
line to the Southwesterly corner of Lot No. 49 of Block 706 of
the Wesley Park Tract in the City of Huntington Beach as shown
on the map of said tract, recorded on Page 16 BQQk 4, ITiscellan-
eons Maps, Records of Orange County, California, thence North-
easterly along the Westerly line of said Lot No. 49 to a point
on the Southerly line of Crest Avenue, thence Northwesterly
in a. straight line to the point of intersection of the North-
erly line of Crest Avenue with the Northeasterly line of the
first alley Southwesterly from Main Street, thence Northwest-
erly along the last mentioned alley line to its point of inter-
section with the Southeasterly line of Fourteenth Street, thence
Northwesterly in a straight line to the Southeasterly corner of
Lot No. 45 of Block 915 of the Wesley Heights Tract in the City

of Huntington Beach as shown on the map of said tract, re-
corded on Page 23 of Book 4, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of
Orange County, California., thence Northwesterly along the
Southwesterly line of said Lot No. 45 to a point on the
Southeasterly line of the first alley Northwesterly from
Fourteenth Street, thence Northeasterly along said last men-
tioned alley line to a point on the Southwesterly line of
Wesley Avenue, thence Northerly in a straight line to the
point of intersection of the Northeasterly line of Wesley
Avenue with the Westerly line of the first alley Westerly
from Main Street , thence Northerly along said last mention-
ed alley line to a point on the Southeasterly line of Seven-
teenth Street, thence Northerly in a straight line to the
Southeasterly corner of Lot No. 29 of Block 1804 of Tract No.
51 in the City of Huntington Beach as shown on the map of said
tract recorded on Page 49 of Book No. 9, Miscellaneous Maps,
Records of Orange County, California, thence Vorthwesterly
along the Southwesterly line of said Lot No. 29 to a point on
the Southeasterly line of the first alley Northwesterly from
Seventeenth Street, thence Northeasterly along said last men-
tioned alley line to a point on the Southerly line of Utica
Street, thence Northwesterly in a straight line to the point
of intersection of the Northerly line of Utica Street with
the Easterly line of the first alley Westerly from Main Street,
thence Northerly along said last mentioned alley line to a
point on the Southerly line of Union Avenue, thence Norther-
ly along a line, which line is one hundred eighty-two and one
tenth (182.1) feet Westerly from and parallel to the Westerly

line of Main Street to a point on the center line of Summit
Avenue, (formerly Clay Street) , the North city boundary line,
thence Easterly three hundred fifty (350) feet along the center
line of said Summit Avenue, the north city boundary line to a
point, thence Southwesterly in a straight line to the North-
easterly corner of Lot No. 22 of Block 2002 of Tract No. 12
in the City of Huntington Beach as shown on the map of said
tract recorded on Page 13 of Book 9 of Miscellaneous Maps,
Records of Orange 06unty, California, thence Southerly along
the Westerly line of the first alley Easterly from Main Street
to a point on the Northwesterly line of Seventeenth Street,
thence Southwesterly in a straight line to the point of inter-
section of the Southeasterly line of Seventeenth Street with
the Northerly line of Utica Street, thence Southeasterly in
a straight line to the point of intersection of the Southerly
line of Utica Street with the Westerly line of the first Alley
Easterly from Main Street, thence Southerly along said last
mentioned alley line to a point on the Northerly line of Loma
Avenue, thence Southerly in a straight line to the point of
intersection of the Sout'rierly line of Loma Avenue with the
Westerly lire of the first alley Easterly from Main Street,
thence Southerly along the last mentioned alley line to a
point on the Northerly line of Thirteenth Street, thence South-
easterly in a straight line to the point of intersection of
the Southerly line of Thirteenth Street with the Southwester-
ly line of the first alley Northeasterly from Main Street,
thence Southeasterly along said last mentioned alley line to
a point on the Northeasterly line of Twelfth Street, thence

Southeasterly in a straight line to the point of intersec-
tion of the Southerly line of Eleventh Street with the South-
westerly line of the first alley Northeasterly from Main Street,
thence Southeasterly along said last mentioned alley line to
a point on the Northerly line of Crest Avenue, thence South-
easterly in a straight line to the point of intersection of
the Southerly line of Crest Avenue with the Southwesterly line
of the first alley Northeasterly from Main Street , thence
Southeasterly along the said last mentioned alley line to a
point on the Northerly line of Palm Avenue, thence South-
easterly in a straight line to the point of intersection of
the Southerly line of Palm Avenue with the Westerly line of
the first alley Easterly from fain Street, thence Southerly
along the Westerly line of the first alley Easterly from
Main Street and along said last mentioned alley line pro-
duced to its point of intersection with the Southwesterly
line of- Ocean Avenue, thence Northwesterly along the South-
westerly line of Ocean Avenue to the point of beginning, ex-
cepting therefrom any portion of any public street or alley
which may be included within the above described district.
Section 4. That serial bonds shall be issued to rep-
resent assessments of twenty-five ($25.00) dollars, or over,
for the cost of said work of improvement; said serial bonds
shall extend over a period of nine years from and after the
2nd. day of January next succeeding their date, and an even
annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be ,pay-

able by coupon, on the second day of January every year
after their date until the whole is paid; and the interest
shall be payable semi-annually by coupon, on the second days
of January and July respectively, of each year, at the rate
of seven (7) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid, until the
whole of said principal and interest is maid.
The bonds herein provided for shall be issued, and the
proceedings herein provided for shall be had under and in
accordance with an Act of the Legislature of the State of Cal-
ifornia, designated as the "Improvement Act of 191111, appro-
ved April 7 , .1911 , and all acts supplementary thereto and
amendatory thereof.
Section 5. Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the
16th. day of April, 1917, at the hour of 6:00 P.M. in the
Council Chambers of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Huntington Beach, at the City mall , located on Fifth Street
between Walnut and Olive Avenues of said city, any and all
persons having objections to the said proposed work of im-
provement may appear before the said Board of Trustees and
show cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried
out in accordance with this resolution.
Section 6. The City Engineer shall make a diagram of the
property affected or benefited by the proposed work of improve-
ment, as hereinbefore described, and to be assessed to pay the
cost and expenses thereof. Such diagram sha�� show each sep-
arAte lot, piece or parcel cf`f land, the area in square feet

of each of said lots, pieces or parcels of land and the rel-
ative location of the same to the work proposed to be done,
all within the limits of the assessment district.
Section 7. The Superintendent of Streets shall post
notices of this work as required by law.
Section S. The City Clerk shall certify to the -pass-
age of this resolution and shall cause the same to be pub-
lished twice in the Huntington Beach News, a. weekly newspaper
published and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach.
Tae foregoing Resolution of Intention is signed and
approved and attested by me this 26th. day of March, 1917.
