HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 344 RESOLUT I ON N0. 1 THE BOARD OF TRUS'"EES OF TF..E CITY OF HUXTINGTLON 2 BEACH, STATE OF CALIFORNIA. 8 I 4 BESQLUTION DECL.LRING RESULT OF ELECTION. t j 5 SEAS, a general municipal election was held and con- 6 ducted in the City of Auntington Beach, on Monday the 12th day of April, 1920, as rewired by law, 7 AND I E E , it appears that notice of said election was 8 duly and legally given, that voting precincts were properly estab- lished, that election officers were appointed and election supplies] 9 furnished, and that in all respects said election was held and con-J, ducted and the votes cast thereat received and canvassed, and the 10 returns thereof, made and declared in time, form and manner as re- quired by the general laws of the State governing elections in 11 Cities of the firth and sixth class, 12 AND kr REAS, the Board of Trustees of said City, met at the Council Chamber of the Board on DIonday, the 19th day of April, 13 1920, to canvass the returns of said election and install the new 14 ly elected officers, as a result of which the board finds that the number of votes._-cast, the names of the persons voted for, and other; 16 matters required by law, to be as hereinafter stated, now therefore! i 16 BE IT RESLOVED. as follows: i 17 That said regular municipal election was held and con- ducted in the City, of Huntington Beach, on Monday, the 12th day of 18 April, 1920, in time, form and manner as required by law; 19 That there was one voting precinct established for the purpose of holding said election, consisting of a consolidation of 20 the regular election precincts established for holding general state and county elections as follows: . 21 wConsolidated Voting Preeinst 'A'", comprising state and 22 county precincts numbers, one, two and three. 23 That the whole number of votes cast in said City was two hundrea and twenty-three, (223) ; 24 That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for 26 which they were voted, the number of votes given in each precinct to each of said persons, 'together with the whole number of votes 26 which they received in the entire City, are as follows: 27 28 29 30 _-------- 31 { 32 l.. i 1 VOTES RECEIVED. Andrews was elected to the office of TRUSTEE of 19 the City of Huntington Beach for the FULL TERM of four years; 20 ALSO, that R. L. Obarr was elected to the office of Trustee of Said City for the FULL TERM of four years; 21 ALSO, that Albert Onson was elected to the office of 22 TRUSTEE of said City for the .BULL TERN of four years; 23 ALSO, than .Ed Fanning was elected to the office of TRUSTBE 24 of said City for the SHORT TBRU of two years; ALSO, that Chas. R. Nutt was elected to the office of 25 CLEtRK of said City for the term of four years; 26 ALSO, that Co E. Lavering was elected to the office of 27 TRL-Tu'SUR124 of said City for the term of four years. 28 29 The Clerk shall enter on the records of the Board, a statement of the resLzlt of the election, showing (1) The whole 30 number of votes cast in said City-(2) The names of the persons voted for, (3) The office 31 which each person was voted for; (4) The number of votes given at each precinct to each of such persons, 32 and (5) The .number of votes given in said -2- i 1 City to each of such persons, 2 S The Llerk shall immediately make and deliver to each of such persons elected, a certificate of election, signed by him and. l 4 duly authenticated; he shall also impose the constitutional oath of office and have them subscribe thereto, whereupon they shall, be inducted into the respective offices to which they have been 5 elected. 6 7 ------ 8 9 I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the Z0 foregoing Resolution was duly and legally introduced and 11 adopted by the BOARD OF TRUSTEES of the City of Hunting- 12 ton Beach at a regular meeting, held April 19th, 1920, 18 by the following vote, to-wit; 14 ,() AYES, TRUSTEES 16 NOES, 16 �..
