RESOLUTION
No. 360
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ORDER-
ING THE IMPROVEMENT OF SECOND STREET, THIRD
STREET AND A PORTION OF LAKE AVENUE, AND
THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE
COST THEREOF AND THAT THE EXPENSES OF SAID
WORK SHALL BE ASSESSED UPON A DISTRICT.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the City
of Huntington Beach, California:
SECTION I. That the Street Work herein described
is required by public interest and convenience and the Board
of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, hereby orders
the following work to be done, to-wit:
1. That SECOND STREET in said City from the north-
easterly line of Ocean Avenue to the westerly line of Lake
Avenue, including the intersections of intersecting streets
and alleys within said limits, be graded to the official
grade and the surface oiled, in accordance with Specifications
1b. 6, and that cement concrete curbs and sidewalks be con-
structed on both sides of said street and at the intersections
with intersecting streets and alleys including the curb re-
turns and sidewalks at the intersection with Lake Avenue, but
excepting in such portions of said Street where existing curbs
and sidewalks are to official line and grade, all in accord-
ance with Plan and Profile No. 1021.

2. That THIRD STREET in said City from the north-
easterly line of Ocean Avenue to the westerly line of Lake
Avenue, including the intersections of intersecting streets
and alleys within said limits, be graded to the official grade,
be paved with a cement concrete pavement with an asphaltic oil
wearing surface, in accordance with Specifications No. 9 and
that cement concrete curbs and sidewalks be constructed on
both sides of said street and at the intersections with inter-
secting streets and alleys excepting in such portions of said
street where existing curbs and sidewalks are to official line
and grade, all in accordance with Plan and Profile No. 1020.
3. That LAKE AVE1TUE in said City from the westerly
production of the northerly line of Lot A-Block 301, Hunting-
ton Beach, across said avenue to the southerly line of Magno-
lia Avenue, including the intersections of intersecting streets
and alleys within said limits, be graded to the official grade,
be paved with a cement concrete pavement With an asphaltic oil
wearing surface, in accordance with Specifications No. S, and
that cement concrete curbs be constructed on both sides of
said street and at the intersections with intersecting streets
and alleys and that cement concrete sidewalks be constructed
on the west side of said street and at the intersections with
intersecting streets and alleys with said west side of said
street excepting in such portions of said described street or
portion of said street where existing curbs and sidwalks are
to official line and grade, all in accordance with Plan and
Prof ile No. 1022.

The above described proposed work or improvement shall
be done in accordance with the following Specifications, which
are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Huntington Beach:
Specifications No. 1 for the construction of cement
concrete Curbs, Specifications No. 2 for the construction of
cement concrete Sidewalks, Specifications No. 6 for the grad.-
ing and oiling of Streets, and Specifications No. 8 for the
grading and paving of Streets with cement concrete base and
asphaltic oil wearing surface; and shall also be done in accord-
ance with the above described Plans and Profiles, all of which
are on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of
Huntington Beach. Reference is hereby made to said Plans,
Profiles and Specifications for a more particular description
of the above described proposed work.
SECTION 2. That the said contemplated work or im-
provement is, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, of more
than local or ordinary public benefit, and said Board of Trust-
ees hereby declares that the district in the City of Huntington
Beach to be benefitted by said work or improvement and to be
assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof is described
as follows: All that portion of the City of Huntington Beach
included within the following boundary lines, to-wit:
Commencing at the point of intersection of the cen-
ter line of Ocean Avenue with the center line of Second Street;
thence in a straight line to the most southerly corner of Lot 10

straight line to the most easterly corner of said Lot 10 Block
101, Huntington Beach Tract; thence in a straight line to the
most southerly corner of Lot 12, Block 101, Huntington Beach
Tract; thence in a straight line to the most easterly corner
of Lot 12, Block 301, Huntington Beach Tract; thence in a
straight line to the southwesterly corner of Lot A, Block 301
Huntington Beach Tract; thence in a straight line to the south-
easterly corner of said Lot A, Block 301, Huntington Beach
Tract; thence in a straight line along the east line of said
Lot A, Block 301, and along the east line of Lot A, Block 402
Huntington Beach Tract and the production northerly of said
line to its intersection with the center line of Magnolia Ave-
nue; thence along said center line of Magnolia Avenue in a
westerly direction to the intersection of the east line of the
alley running northerly through Block 493, Huntington Beach
Tract produced northerly with said center line of Magnolia
Avenue; thence .southerly and southwester) along the easterly
and southeasterly lines of said alley running southerly and
southwesterly through Blocks 403-303-203 and 103 and the pro-
duction of said lines across intersecting streets to the most
westerly corner of ,Lot 11, Block 103, Huntington Beach Tract;
thence in a straight line to the most northerly corner of
Lot 1, Block 103, Huntington Beach Tract; thence in a straight
line to the most westerly corner of said Lot 1, Block 103,

Huntington Beach Tract; thence in a straight line to the point
of intersection of the center line of Third Street with the
center line of Ocean Avenue; thence in a straight line to the
most southerly corner of Lot 10, Block 102, Huntington Beach
Tract; thence in a straight line to the most easterly corner
of said Lot 10, Block 102, Huntington Beach Tract; thence in
a straight line to the most northerly corner of Lot 1, Block
102, Huntington Beach Tract; thence in a straight line to the
most westerly corner of said Lot 1, Block 102, Huntington Beach
Tract; thence in a straight line to the point of beginning;
excepting therefrom any portion of any street or alley which
is included within the above described district. This descrip-
tion is general only and reference is hereby made to Map No.
1019 as approved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Hunt-
ington Beach on the 4th day of January, 1921, and on file in
the office of the City Engineer of said City, for a more com-
plete and detailed description of said district.
SECTION 3. The City Engineer is directed to make
a diagram of the property affected or benefitted by the pro-
posed work or improvement as described in this Resolution and
to be assessed to pay the expenses thereof. Such diagram
shall show each separate lot, piece or parcel of land, the
area. in square feet of said lots, pieces or parcels of land,
and the relative location of the same to the work proposed
to be done, all within the limits of the assessment district.
SECTION 4. That the Board of Trustees determines
that serial bonds shall be issued to represent assessments

of Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or over for the cost of said
work or improvement; said serial bonds shall extend over a
period ending nine (9) years from and after the second day
of January, next succeeding the date of said bonds,and an
even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be
payable, by coupon, on the second day of January every year
after their date until the whole is paid; and interest shall
be paid semi-annually, by coupon, on the second days of Janu-
ary and July, respectively, of each year at the rate of seven
(7) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid until the whole of
said principal and interest are paid Said bonds shall be
issued in accordance with the brovisions of an act of the
Legislature of the State of California, entitled, "an Act to
provide a system of Street Improvement Bonds to represent
certain assessments for the cost of Street Rork and Improve-
ment within Municipalities, and also for the payment of said
Bonds" , approved February 27th, 1893, and of all acts sup-
plementary thereof.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to
post and keep posted for a period of five days, on or near
the entrance to the City Hall, a notice, with Specifications,
inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing said work, and
he shall also publish a notice of said work inviting sealed
proposals or bids for doing said work and referring to the
Specifications posted or on file by two insertions in the
Huntington Beach es said notice shall require a certified

check, or bond, either, as prescribed by law, and for an amount
not less than ten per cent of the aggregate of the proposal.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the pass-
age of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published
by two insertions in the Huntington Beach News, and he shall
also post and keep posted, a printed copy of this Resolution,
for a period of two days, on or near the entrance to the City
Hall.
PASSED and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the
City of Huntington Beach, California, and signed by the Presi-
dent thereof this 21st day of February, 1921.

hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced
and passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees and signed
by the President thereof, and attested by the City Clerk, at
a regular meeting of said Board held on the 21st
day of February, 1921, and that the same was passed and
adopted by the following vote:
