HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 371 i e r RESOLUTION NO. 371 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DECLAR- ING THEIR INTENTION TO CLOSE UP, VACATE, AND ABANDON FOR STREET, ALLEY OR OTHER PUBLIC PURPOSES CERTAIN STREETS, AVENUES, BOULEVARD AND ALLEYS IN PORTIONS OF WESLEY HEIGHTS IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA: DESCRIBING SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT AND SPECIFYING THE EXTERIOR BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICT AFFECTED THEREBY. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, California: SECTION I. That it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, California., to. close up, vacate and abandon for street, alley and other public purposes, the Boulevard, Avenues, , Streets and Alleys described as follows: (a) That portion of Sixteenth Street, so called., lying between Blocks 915 & 916, Wesley Heights, as shown on the Hap of said Wesley Heights recorded in Book 4, page 23 of Miscellaneous Maps, Orange County Records, and extending from the westerly production of the northerly line of said Block 915 Wesley Heights to the westerly production of the curve of seven hundred eleven and thirteen one-hundredths feet radius forming the southerly boundary line of said Block 915 Wesley Heights. (b) That portion of Eighteenth Street extending from the northeasterly line of Palm Avenue to the southerly line of Edgeward Boulevard, as shown on the said Map of Wesley Heights, as above recorded. ( c) That portion of Nineteenth Street as shown on said Ypn of Wesley Heights, as above recorded, extending from the northeasterly line of Crest Avenue; and also the extension of said street lying between Blocks 917 & 1018 and Blocks 919 & 1019, as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights, from the north- erly line of Crest Avenue to the southwesterly line of Wesley Avenue as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights. (d) All of that certain names or unnamed Street ly- ing between Blocks 1017 & 1018 Wesley Heights and extending from the northerly line of Loma. Avenue to the southwesterly* line of Wesley Avenue, as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights. (e) That portion of Twentieth Street as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights and extending from the northeasterly line of Palm Avenue to the southwesterly line of Oak Avenue; and also that portion of Twentieth Street as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights lying between Blocks 819 & 920 Wesley Heights and extending from the easterly line of Edgeware Boulevard to the westerly line of Crest Avenue. (f) That portion of Twenty-first Street as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights and extending f rom the northeasterly line of Palm Avenue to the southwesterly line of Oak Avenue; and also that portion of Twenty-first Street as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights and extending from that certain named or unnamed Street lying between Blocks 820 & 921 and Block 821, to the southwesterly line of Wesley Avenue. 2. (g) That portion of Twenty-second Street as shown on said Hap of Wesley Heights and extending from the north- easterly line of Palm Avenue to the southwesterly line of Oak Avenue; and also that certain named or unnamed street as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights lying between Blocks 820 & 921 and Block 821 and extending from the northeasterly line, of Oak Avenue to the southeasterly line of Twenty-third Street. (h) Oak Avenue from the southeasterly line of Twenty- third Street to the southwesterly line of Edgeware Boulevard, as shown on the Map of said Wesley Heights. (i) That portion of Edgeward Boulevard as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights, and extending from the southeast- erly line of Twenty-third Street to- the northwesterly line of Seventeenth Street; and also that portion of Edgeward Boule- vard as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights and extending from the southeasterly line of said Seventeenth Street to the line of Sixteenth Street as now established, said boundary line of Sixteenth Street as now established being the exten- sion of the southeasterly line of Block 716 northerly to an intersection with the boundary line between Lots 4 & 6 Block 816 extended westerly. ( j) That portion of Crest Avenue as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights, and extending from the southwesterly line of Wesley Avenue to the northwesterly line of Seventeenth Street; and also that portion of Crest Avenue as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights and extending from the southeasterly line 3, of Seventeenth Street to the extension westerly of the curve of seven hundred eleven and thirteen one—hundredths feet radius forming the southerly boundary line of Block 915 of said Wesley Heights, as above recorded. (k) That portion of Loma Avenue as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights, and extending from the northwesterly line of Seventeenth Street to the easterly line of that cer— tain named or unnamed Street lying between Block 917 & 1018 and Block 919 of said Wesley Heights; and also that portion of Loma Avenue as shown on said Map of Wesley Heights and extending from the southeasterly line of Seventeenth Street southeasterly to the southerly extension of the easterly line of Block 1016 of said Wesley Heights, as above recorded. (1) That portion of that certain Alley in Block 716 of said Wesley Heights and shown on the Map of said Wesley Heights, as above recorded, andextending from the northeaster— ly line of Palm Avenue northeasterly, from the extension of the northeasterly line of Lot 3 of said Block 716 Wesley Heights northeasterly to its intersection with the Alley running north— westerly through said Block 716 Wesley Heights; and also said Alley running northwesterly through Block 716 of said Wesley Heights. (m) All of those certain Alleys as shown on the aforesaid Map of Wesley Heights recorded in Miscellaneous Maps Book 4 page 23 Orange County Records as situated and being, in Blocks Numbers 717, 718, 719, 720, 721, 722, 816, 817, 819, 820, 821, 915, 916, 917, 919, 920, 921, 1016, 1018, 1019, 1020. 4. • SECTION 2. That the exterior' boundaries of the district in said City of Huntington Beech, California, affected by said work or improvement, is hereby specified and declared to be as follows, to-wit: Commencing at the westerly corner of Lot 2, Block 722 Wesley Heights as shown on the map of said Tract recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 4 page 23, Orange County Records; thence in a straight line to the southerly corner of Lot 2 Block 716 Wesley Heights as above recorded; thence in a straight line to the easterly corner of Lot 4, Block 716 Wesley Heights, as above recorded; thence in a straight line to the southerly corner of Lot 5 Block 716 of said Wesley Heights; thence along the southeasterly boundary line of said Block 716 and the extension of said line northeasterly to its intersection with the boundary line between Lots 4 and 6, Block 816 of said Wesley Heights produced westerly; thence along said production westerly of said boundary line between said Lots 4 and 6, Block 815 Wesley Heights and along . said boundary line and its production easterly to the point of intersection of said line with the production westerly of the curve of seven hundred eleven and thirteen one-hundredths feet radius forming the southerly boundary line of Block 915 of said Wesley Heights; thence along said westerly .production of said curve and the boundary line of said Block 915, Wesley Heights, being the northeasterly line of Crest Avenue to the northwesterly line of Fourteenth Street; thence along the 5. said northwesterly line of Fourteenth Street to its inter- section with the southerly line of Loma Avenue said line being the northerly line of Block 915 of said Wesley Heights; thence along said southerly line of said Loma Avenue and the northerly line of said Block 915 Wesley Heights and the ex- tension of said northerly line of said Block 915 Wesley Heights to the intersection of said line with the southeast- erly line of Block 1016 produced southerly; thence in a straight line to the easterly corner of said Block 1016 Wes- ley Heights and the southwesterly line of Wesley Avenue; thence along said southwesterly line of Wesley. Avenue to its intersection with the southeasterly line of Twenty-Third Street ; thence alone said southeasterly line of said Twenty- third Street to the point of beginning; excepting that por- tion of Seventeenth Street included within the above district. SECTION 3. That the Street Superintendent of said City of Huntington Beach is hereby directed to cause notice of the passage of this Resolution to be posted as required by law, and also to cause notice, similar in substance, to be published as required by law, by four successive insertions in the Huntington Beach News. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published once in the Huntington Beach News. PASSED and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach and approved by the President of said Board, this 3rd day of January, 1922. 6.
