RESOLUTION
NO. 377
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, DECLAR-
ING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS AND THE
RESULT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
HELD IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ON
THE loth DAY OF APRIL, 1922.
WHEREAS, HERETOFORE, the Board of Trustees of the
City of Huntington Beach, by resolution and by ordinance, duly
passed and adopted by said Board of Trustees, did order a,
general municipal election to be held in the said City of Hunt-
ington Beach on the 10th day of April, 1922, and
WHEREAS, at said election so ordered, there were to
be elected two City Trustees or members of the Board of Trust-
ees, and
WHEREAS, at said election there wars submitted to the
qualified voters of said City, the said proposition as herein-
after set forth, and
WHEREAS, said general municipal election was in all
manner and things held in accordance with the provisions of
an Act of the legislature of the State of California, entitled,
"An Act to Provide for and Regulate Municipal Elections in
Cities of the Fifth and Sixth Class", which Act was approved
on the 27th day of May, 1919, and in accordance with the Gene-
ral Election Laws of the State of California, and all ordinances
of the City of Huntington Beach.

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved: That the result of
the said General Municipal Election is as follows.,
That the whole number of votes cast in said City
of Huntington Beach at said General Municipal Election was
850; that the names of the persons voted for and the number
of votes given in the said City of Huntington Beach to each
of such persons and the offices to fill which each person was
voted for are as follows:
J. H. Macklin received 402 votes for the office of City Trustee
Richard Drew received 319 votes for the office of City Trustee
Ed Manning received 303 voted for the office of City Trustee
R. W. Edens received 207 votes for the office of City Trustee
Charles P. Patton received 206 votes for the office of City
Trustee
Lynn Colburn received 114 votes for the office of City Trustee
R. J. Prescott received 75 votes for the office of City Trustee
That at said election there was submitted to the
qualified voters of the said City., the following proposition:
Shall each member of the Board of Trustees
of the City of Huntington Beach, receive
as compensation for his services as such
City Trustee the sum of $25.00 per month
in lieu of the present compensation granted
to him.
and that at said municipal election, there were cast 476 votes
for said proposition and 114 against said proposition.
That said Municipal Election was held and conducted
with one voting precinct and that the results above set forth
are the results of the ballot cast at such voting precinct
and are the number of votes given in the City to each of such
persons and for and against each of such propositions voted
upon.

NOW THEREFORE, the Board of Trustees of the City of
Huntington Beach, do hereby declare that as a result of said
general municipal election, J. H. Macklin and Richard Drew,
being the presons having the highest number of votes given for
each office, have been and are elected to the office of City
Trustee and they do hereby further declare that the proposition
above set forth was carried and that hereafter the members of
the Board of Trustees shall receive the amount of compensation
authorized by said proposition.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this day of April, 1922.

I, Charles R. Nutt, City Clerk and Ex-officio Clerk-
of the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach, Calif-
ornia, do hereby bertify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington
Beach, State of California, and signed by the President of the
said Board, at a regular meeting thereof, held on the
day of April, 1922, and that the same was passed and adopted
by the following vote:
