RESOLUTION
NO. 382 .7
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CAN-
VASSING THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
HELD IN THE SAID CITY OF THE 21st DAY
OF AUGUST, 1922, AND DECLARING THE
RESULT OF SAID ELECTION.
WHEREAS, at a special municipal election held in
the City of Huntington Beach, Orange County, California, on
Monday the 21st day of August, 19222 pursuant to the provi-
sions of Ordinance No. 243 of said City, the whole number
of qualified electors voting at said election on said pro-
posed ordinance submitted thereat was 917 and
WHEREAS, 559 of the qualified electors voting on
said proposed ordinance voted against the adoption of said
proposed ordinance, and 358 of the qualified electors vot-
ing on said proposed ordinance voted in favor thereof, and
WHEREAS, due notice of said special municipal
election was given and said special election was held at
the time and in the manner in all respects as required by
said Ordinance 243 of said City, and in all particulars not
recited in said ordinance said special municipal election
was held as provided by law for holding municipal elections
in cities of the sixth class,
WHEREAS, said election was legally and fairly con-
ducted and the returns thereof were duly and regularly made
and certified to this Board; and said returns have been duly
and legally canvassed by this Board, and
WHEREAS, a majority of the qualified electors vot-
ing on said proposed Ordinance as set forth in Ordinance
failed to receive the favorable vote of a majority of the
electors voting on said proposed Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, said election was conducted with two
special municipal election Precincts as described in said
Ordinance No. 243 and in special election Precinct No. I
there were 403 qualified electors voting on said proposed
Ordinance of which only 138 voted in favor thereof, and 265
voted against the adoption thereof, and
WHEREAS, at special election Precinct No. 11 514
qualified electors voted on said pmposed Ordinance and only
220 thereof voted in favor of said Ordinance and 294 voted
against the adoption of said Ordinance.
NOW THEREFORE, be it reselved by the Board of
Trustees of Huntington Beach, that the proposition of adopt-
ing said Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 209, of said City
of Huntington Beach, as proposed in special municipal elec-
tion failed of adoption and the said proposed amendment is
hereby declared to have failed to have carried by a majority
vote on the said proposed amendment.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 22nd day of August, 1922.

was duly adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of
Huntington Beach, State of California, and signed by the Presi-
dent of the said Board, at a regular meeting thereof, held on
the 22nd day of August, 1922, and that the same was passed and
adopted by the following vote:
