ORDERING THE WORK.
RESOLVED, that whereas the Board of Trustees of
the City of Huntington Beach, California, did on the 21st
day of January 1924, pass its Resolution of Intention No.
4� to order the hereinafter described work to be done
and improvemwnt to be made in said City which Resolution '
of Intention was duly and legally published as required b
law, as appears from the affidavit of Elson G Ggm ed now
on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and
whereas, notices of the passage of said Resolution of In-
tention No. 42Z headed "Notice of Improvement" was duly and
legally posted along the line of said contemplated work and
Improvement and . in front of all the property liable to be
assessed therefor, and on and along all the open streets
and alleys within the assessment district described in
said Resolution of Intention, in time, form, manner and .
number as required by law, after the passage of said Rese-
lution of Intention as appears from the affidavit of Louis
F Gates the Street Superintendent of said City, who person-
ally posted the same and who, upon the completion of the
posting of said notices, filed said affidavit in the office
of the City Clerk, waking oath that he completed the post-
ing of said notices on the 7th day of February, 1924,and

whereas, all protests or objections presented have been
disposed of in time, form and manner as required by law,
and said Board of Trustees having now acquired Jurisdic-
tion to order the proposed improvement, it is hereby
RESOLVED, that the public interest and conten-
ience require the work herein described and the Board of
Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach hereby orders
the following work to be done and improvement to be made.
in said City, to-witt
1st. The grading to the official grade thereof
of Fifteenth Street in said City for the entire width of
the roadway, from curb line to curb line, together with the
intersections of intersecting streets and alleys between
the curb lines of said streets and alleys and from property
line to property line of said Fifteenth Street, from the
Northeasterly line of Ocean Avenue to the Southwesterly
curb line of Palm Avenue.
2nd. The paving of the roadway of said Fifteenth
Street in said City from durb line to curb line, together
with the intersections of intersecting streets and alleys,
between the curb lines of said intersecting streets or alleys,
and from property line to property line of said Fifteenth
Street from the Northeasterly line of Ocean Avenue to the
Southwesterly curb line of said Palm Avenue with a pavement
consisting of a two (2) inch Willite Composit&on wearing
surface laid upon a three (3) inch asphaltic concrete base.

3rd. The construction of the following corrugated
galvanized iron half-round ten (10) gauge culverts on a
two (2) inch thick concrete base; said culvert to be fifteen
(15) inches wide at the base with a five (5) inch rise.
One culvert as above described shall be constructed and
placed with the inner edge of said culvert contiguously
and adjacent to the curb lines produced of said Fifteenth
Street on both sides of the intersection of said Fifteenth
Street and Walnut Avenue crossing said Walnut Avenue with
feeders to the same on the Southerly and Easterly corners
of said intersection --- said feeders to be placed contig-
uously and adjecent to the curb line of said Walnut Avenue
at said intersection; two (2) culverts as above described
shall be constructed and placed with the inner edge of said
culverts contiguously and adjacent to the curb line of
Orange Avenue produced from property line to property line
of said Fifteenth Street and across said Fifteenth Street
with feeders on the Northerly and Westerly corner of the
intersection of said Fifteenth Street and said Orange Ave-
nue; also two (2) culverts contiguously and adjacent to the
curb line of Fifteenth Street on both sides of said street,
crossing Magnolia Avenue, with feeders as above described
on all four corners of said intersection; also two (2)
culverts as above described crossing Acacia Avenue with
feeders on the Northerly and Westerly corners of the inter-
section of said Acacia Avenue and Fifteenth Street; also

one (1) culvert across the Westerly corner of the intersec-
tion of Palm Avenue and said Fifteenth Street commencing
at a point where the Northwesterly prperty line of said
Fifteenth Street produced intersects the Southwesterly curb
line of said Palm Avenue and running to a point where the.
Southwesterly property line of said Palm Avenue intersects
the Northwesterly curb line of said Fifteenth Street --- said
culvert to be of the type as above described. Cement con-
crete headwalls shall be constructed at the endw of the
above culverts and feeders as shown on the plan.
4th. The construction of an ornamental lighting
system described as follows; Twenty three (23) ornamental
single light standards fully equipped with a single light
and connected with three quarter (3/4) inch galvanized
electric conduit placed under ground adjacent to the curb
line. Twelve (12) of said single light standards on the
Northwesterly side of said Fifteenth Street and eleven (11)
on the Southeasterly side of said Street and spaced approxi-
mately two hundred and thirty (230) feet apart as is more
particularly shown on said plan, profile, and cross-section.
They shall be of a single circuit and said circuit shall
terminate at the pole of the Southern California Edison
Electric Company which is situated twenty (20) feet South-
easterly from the curb line of said Fifteenth Street on
the Northeasterly side of. the alley running at right angles
to said Fifteenth Street, in Block 114 Huntington Beach

Tract as shown on map recorded in Boon 3, page 36 of Mis-
cellaneous Maps, record of Orange County, Califorhia, which
will be the feed-in point for said circuit.
The grade to which all of the described work shall
be done and improvement made, shall be the grade as shown
on the plan, profile and cross-section therefor heretofore
adopted by the Board of Trustees of said City of Huntington
Beach and now on file in the office of the City -Engineer,
to which said plan, profile and cross-section ,ref erence is
hereby made.
All of the foregoing work is fully set forth,
delineated and described on the said plan, profile and cross-
section and specification therefor to which reference is
hereby made for a full, complete, particular and detailed
description of the work.
Section 2. PLAN, PROFILE, CROSS-SECTION AND
SPECIFICATION. All of the said work and improvement shall
be done as shown upon and according to the plan, profile and
cross-section therefor numbered New Series ten (10) in four
(4) sheets, and according to specifications numbered twenty
nine (29) for the grading of roadway and the construction
of asphaltic concrete base and Willite Plastic Composition
weahing surface pavement, headers, culverts, head-walls
and specifications numbered thirty(30) for the construction
of conduits, ornamental lighting standards and lights on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said City which

said plans, profiles, cross-sectiona and specifications
have been approved and adopted as the plans, profiles,
cross-sections and specifications to be followed in making
said improvement; and. by reference thereto the same are
incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and reference
Is hereby made thereto for a full, complete and more partic-
ular description of said work.
The City Clerk of said City, is hereby directed
to post a notice of said work, together with the plans and
specifications therfor, conspicuously for five (5) days
on or near the council ehambae+r dour of said City, inviting
sealed proposals or bids for doing the work ordered.
He is also directed to publish twice a notice
inviting such proposals, and referring to the spedif ications
posted or on file, in the Huntington Beach News a weekly
newspaper published and circulated in said City and hereby
designated for that purpose.
All proposals or bide shall be accompan&ed by a
check payable to the City of Huntington Beach certified
by a responsible bank for an amount which shall not be
less than ten (10%) per cent of the aggregate of the pro-
posals, or by a bond for said amount and so payable, signed
by the bidder and two (2) sureties, who shalljustify, be-
fore any officer competent to administer an oath, in double
the said amount, and over and above all statutory exemptions.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered
to the Clerk of the Board of Trustees of said City on or
before 7:30 P.R. o' clock of the 17th day of March, 1924,
said time being not less than ten (10) days ' arom the time
of the first publication and posting of this notice. Bids
will be opened on said day and hour.

mourned meeting thereof held on Monday the 18th day of
