RESOLUTION
NO. 423
ORDERING THE WORK.
RESOLVED, that whereas the Board Of Trustees of
the City of Huntington Beach, California, did on the 21st
day of January, 1024, pass its Resolution of Intention
No. 415 to order the hereinafter described work to be done
and improvement to be made in said City which Resolution of
Intention was duly and legally published as required by law,
as appears from the affidavit of Elson G Conrad now on file
In the office of the City Clerk of said City and whereas,
notices of the passage of said Reaolution of Intention No.
415 headed "Notice of Improvement" was duly and legally
posted. al6ng the line of said contemplated work and improve-
vent and in front of all the property liable to be assessed
therefor, and. on and along all the open streets and alleys
within the assessment district described in said Reaolution
of Intention, in time, form, manner and number as required
by law, after the passage of said Resolution of Intention
as appears from the affidavit of Louis F3 Gates the Street
Superintendent of said. City, who personally posted same,
and who upon the completion of the posting of said notices,
filed said affidavit in the office of the CityClerk,making
oath that he completed the posting of said notices on the
7th day- of February, 1924, and whereas, all protests or
objections presented have been disposed of- in time, form
and manner as required by law, and said Board of Trustees
having now acquired jurisdiction to order the proposed im-
provement, it is hereby
RESOLVED that the public interest and convenience
require the work her&in described and the Board of Trua-
tees of the City of Huntington Beach hereby orders the
following work to be done and improvement to be made in
said City, to-wit:
lat. The construction of an Ornamental lighting
system fully equipped with single light standards and single
lights and connected with three quarter (3/4) inch galvan-
ized electric conduit placed under ground adjacent to the
curb line. There shall be thirty (30) of said single light
standards, fifteen (15) on each side of Eleventh Street
spaced approximately two hundred and twenty five (225)
feet apart more or less as shown �n the hereinafter mentioned
plan. They shall be of a single circuit and said circuit
shall terminate on the pole of the Southern California
Edison Electric Company which is situated sixteen (16)
inches Northwesterly from the Northwesterly curb line of said
Eleventh Street and on the Northeasterly ally line of the
alley running at right angles to said Eleventh Street
through Block 112, Huntington Beach Tract recorded in book
3, page 36 Miscellaneous Maps Record of Orange County,
California, which will be the feed-in point for said air-

cuit.
The grade to which all of the described work
shall be done and improvement made shall be the grade as
shown on the plan therefor heretofore adopted by the Board
of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach on file in the
office of the City Engineer, to which said plan ref#rence
is hereby made.
All of the foregoing work is fully: se; forth,
delineated and described on the said plan, detail sheet
and specifications therefor to which reference is hereby
made for a full, complete, particular and detailed des-
cription of the work.
Section 2. PLAN, DETAIL SHEET AND SPECIFICATIONS.
All of the said work and improvement shall be done as shown
upon and according to the plan and detail sheet therefor
numbered New Series twelve (12) in two (2) sheets, and
according to specifications numbered thirty three (33) for
the construction of ornamental lighting standards and lights
on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and
all of said plan, detail sheet and specifications have been
approved and adopted as the plan, detail sheet and specifi-
cations to be followed in making said improvement, and by
reference thereto the same are incorporated herein and
made a part hereof and reference is hereby made thereto
for a full,` complete and more particular description of
said work.

The City Clerk of said City, is hereby directed
to post a notice of said wo3k, together with the plans and
specifications therefor, conspicuously for five (5) days
on or near the council chamber door of said City, inviting
sealed proposals or bids for doing the work ordered. He
is also directed to publish twice a notice inviting such
proposals, and referring to the specifications posted or on
file, in the Huntington Beach News a weekly newspaper pub-
lished and circulated in said City and hereby designated
for that purpose.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a
check payable to the City of Huntington Beach certified
by a responsible bank for an-,,amount which shall not be
less than ten (10) percent of the aggregate of the propos-
al, or by a bond for the said amount and so payable, signed
by the bidder and two sureties, who shall justify before any
officer competent to administer an oath, in double the said
amount, and over and above all statutory exemptions.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered
to the Clerk of the Board of Trustees of said City on or
before 7:34 o' clock Pe'1. of the .17th day of March, ,1924,
said time being not less than ten (10) days from the time
of the first publication and posting of this notice. Bids
will be opened on the said day and hour.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Board
of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular
adjourned meeting thereof held on the 18th day of February,
19242 by the following vote:
