HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 427 RESOLUTION NO. 427 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUS- TEES OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DE- CLARING RESULT OF ELECTION. WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Huntington Beach, on Monday, the 14th day of April, 1924, as required by law, AND WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said elec- tion was duly and legally given, that voting precincts were properly established, that election officers were appointed and election supplies furnished, and that in all respects said election was held and . conducted and the votes cast there- at received and canvassed, and the returns thereof, made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the general laws of the state governing elections in cities of the fifth ar sixth class, AND WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of said City met at the council chamber of the Board on 1Tonday, the 21st day of April, 1924 to canvass the returns of said election and inst&ll the newly elected officers, as a result of which the Board finds that the number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for, and other matters required by law, to be as hereinafter stated, now therefore BE IT RESOLVED as follows: • That said regular municipal election was keld and conducted in the City of Huntington Beach, on Monday the 14th of April, 1924, in time, form and manner as re- quired by law; That there were four voting pfecincts established for the purpose of holding said election, consisting of a consolidation of the regular election precincts established for holding general state and county elections as follows: "Consolidated Voting Precinct "A", comprising state and county precincts numbers 1, 2, and 3; "Consolidated Voting Precinct "B'", comprising state and county precincts numbers 4, 5, and 6; "Consolidated Voting Precinct "C'", comprising state and county precincts numbers 7, and 8; "Consolidated Voting Precinct 110", comprising state and county precincts numbers 9, and 10. RESOLVED therefore, that at said general munici- pal election WILLIAM R WH.ARTON was elected to the office of TRUSTEEI.of the City. of Huntington Be4ch for the FULL TERM of four years; ALSO, that CHARLES G BOSTER was elected to the -3- office of TRUSTEE of said City for the FULL TERM of four years; ALSO, that LAWRENCE R RIDENOUR was elected to the office of TRUSTEE of said City for the FULL TERM of four years; ALSO, that W R WRIGHT was elected to the office of CLERK of said City for the term of four years; ALSO, that JOSEPH VAVRA was elected to the office of TREASURER of said City for the tern -of four year; The Clerk shall enter on the records of the Board a statement of the result of the election, showing (1) . The whole number of votes cast in said City; (2) The names of the persons voted for, and a statement that there were-. no proposi- tions voted. upon; (3t The office which each person was voted for; (4) The number of votes given at each precinct to each of such persons, and for and against each of such propositions; and (5) The number of votes given in said City to each of such persons, and for and against each of such propositions voted upon. The Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to each of such persons elected a certificate of election, signed by him and duly authenticated; he shall also impose the con- stitutional oath of office and have them subscribe thereto, whereupon they shall be inducted into the respective offices to which they have been elected. -4- • I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the fore- going Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting held April 21st, 1924 by the following vote, to-wit: AYES:Onson,Macklin,Obarr,Andrews,Drew NOES: None ABSENT:None IN TESTI1ONY WHEREOF, I have here- unto set my hand and affixed the official seal of said.
