Conrad now, on file in the office of the City CJ_erl� of said City and 71'F-�REAS, notices of the pass .g;e of said -resolu- tion of Intention !'Jo. 451 headed "Notice of Imrro"vement" was duly and legally posted along the lines of said con- templated work and improvement and in front of all the pro- perty liable to be assessed therefor, and on and along all the open streets and alleys within the assessment district described in said Resolution of Intention, in time, form, manner and number as required by law, after the passage of said Resolution of Intention, as appeers from the affidavit of E. T�. BILLINGS, the Street Superintendent of said City, �xf o personally posted the same and who upon the completion of the posting; of sped notices, filed said affidavit in the of-'ice of the City Clerk, making oath that he completed the posting; of said notices on the 29th day of August, 1924, and ',: 1_�``T REAS, all t-Drotests or objections presented presented have been dis_-osed of in time, fora and manner as required by and said Board of Trustees having now acquired Jurisdiction to order the proposed improvement, it is hereby RESOLMED that the public interest and convenience .require the work herein described and the Board of Trus- tees of the City of Huntington Beach hereby orders the fol- lowing work to be done and improvement to be made in said City, to-grit: lst. . .The grading to the official grade thereof of California Avenue in said City from property line to property line, together with its intersection 1ATith inter- secting streets, betvreen the property lines of said inter- sedting streets from the North property line of Detroit Street to the South property line of Geneva Street except there such bra ding has already been done. The words "Of- ficial grade" as used herein shall be deemed to refer to and mean the grade shown on plans, profiles and cross-sections adopted for the doing; of said work. 2nd. . .The paving of said California Av enue in said City from curb line to curb line, to7ether with its intersection with intersecting streets , between the curb lines of said intersecting streets, from the north property line of Detroit Street to the South property line of Geneva Street -ith a pavement consisting of a one and one-half (12) inch .4so altic Concrete (Topeka) 4i.ea.ring surface laid -2- upon a three and one-half (312 ) inch Asnhaltic Concrete Base, excepting therefrom a strip eiL-hteen (18) feet wide in the intersection of said California Avenue with Frankfort Street, the center of said strip running along the center of said Frankfort Street from property line to property line of said California Avenue 7?hIch strip shall be naved with a one and one-half (12) inch Asphaltic Concrete (Topeka) wear- ing. surface laid. on present -pavement. 3rd. . .The construction of cement concrete side- wo,lks running nara.11el with and one foot from both Dro- perty .lines of the said California Avenue together with all approaches at its intersection with intersecting streets, from the North property line of Detroit Street to the South property line of Geneva Street, excepting therefrom the ap- proach at the corner of the intersection of the said California A venue and Frankfort Street. -tuh. . .The construction of cement concrete curbs on both sides of the s,--,Id California Avenue, running pnra- llel with nine and one-half (92) feet from the property lines of the said California Avenue , together -1ith all curb returns at its Intersection with intersecting streets, from the North oronerty line of Detroit Street to the South property line of Geneira Street, exce.,pting therefrom the curb returns at the intersection of the sai� California. Ave- nue and Frankfort Street, also one hundred and sixty-one (161) feet of curb on the East side of the said California Avenue beEinnirIg fifty four (54) feet "dorth of the 1,3orth property line of Elmira Street and running one hundred and sixty one (161) feet North therefrom, also twenty-one (21) feet of curb on the west side of the said Oualifornia .Ave- nue beginning at the "north property line of Fran'zfort Street and running ti-enty-one (21) feet North therefrom, also forth (40) feet of curb on t'Z:e "'est side of the said California. Avenue beginning forty (4-0) feet Vorth of the North property line of Frankfort Street and running; forty (40) feet North therefrom. 5th. . .The construction of the following corru- gated galvanized iron, half-round, ten (10) gauge culverts on a tiro (2) inch thick concrete base; said culverts to ve fifteen (15) inches wide at the base 1T.I i.th a. five (5) inch rise. One hundred and Forty-eight (148) lineal feet of culverts as above described at the intersection of the said California Avenue and E'lrai_ra, Street, located as shorm on the glans; One hundred, and forty-eight (148) lineal feet of culvert as above described at the ;ntersection of the .;aid Ca.lifornia. The City Clerk of said City is hereby. directed to post a. notice of said work together with the plans and specifications therefor conspicuously for five (5) days on or near the Council Chamber door of said City inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work ordered. He is also directed to publish twice a notice Inviting such proposals, and referring to the specifi.ca- tions posted or on file, in the Huntington Beach News, a �?,-eekly newspaper, publis;ned and circulated in said City and hereby designated for that purpose.
