AT A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF HUNTI1-GTON
BEACH, HELD ON MONDAY THE 9th DAY OF
MAY, 1927, THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION
WAS ADOPTED:
WHEREAS, God in his infinite wisdom has taken from
our midst, our beloved friend and co-worker CHARLES W.WARNER;.
and
WHEREAS, it is the wish of the officials of the
City of Huntington Beach to express in some humble manner
their deep sorrow and sympathy to the bereaved fammily:
NOW THET='EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Qity Hall
of the City of Huntington Beach, be closed on Wednesday the llth
day of May, 1927, and that no work be done on that day between
the hours of twelve noon and five o'clock P.M. , thereby giving
all officials and imployees of the City opportunity to extend
their sympathy and consolation to the bereaved family, and to
render respect and tribute to the memory of so good a man as our
departed friend and City Recorder, Judge Charles W. Warnar.
He was a highly respected citizen, a gust and upright
man and a faithful and efficient officer and servant of the
people. His loss will be felt, not only by those of his immediate
family, but by his many friends and associates. His high ideals
and mapy virtues will ever remain deep un the memories of those
who knew him.
And yet, we know how much more deeply his loss is
felt by his immediate family. To them we can only say " May
the Supreme Ruler of the Universe in His infinite wisdom for-
tify you with resignation in this hour of sorrow, and comfort
you with the Divine assurance that the spirit of the departed,
honored and loved one, is happy in his Father's House"
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolu-
tion be sent to the bereaved family and that the same be spread
on the minutes of this Board.
