HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 595 RESOLUTION NO. 595 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DECLARING THEIR PUBLIC INTEREST AND CONVENIENCE REQUIRE AND THAT IT IS THE INTENTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAID CITY TO CLOSE UP PORTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS IN SAID CITY, The Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach do resolve as follows: Sectionl: RESOLVED, that public interest and convenience require, and that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Beach to close up portions of certain streets in said City, described as follows: That portion of Sixteenth Street described and delineated as follows; Beginning at a point in the Northerly line of Palm Avenue, said point being South 48 degrees 41 minutes East 250.20 feet from the Southwesterly corner of Lot "Cn of Tract No. 260 as per Yap thereof on file in Book 13, page 34, of Miscellaneous Yaps, records of Orange County, California; thence North 41 degrees 18 minutes 50 seconds East 429.70 feet to a two inch iron pipe; thence thence North 87 degrees 00 minutes 55 seconds East 387.12 feet to a two inch iron pipe; thence South 40 degrees 58 minutes 28 seconds West 60 feet to a point; thence South 87 degrees 00 minutes 55 seconds West 294.79 feet to a point; thence South 41 degrees 18 minutes 50 seconds West 419*07 feet to a point in the northerly line of Palm Avenue; thence North 48 deg- rees 41 minutes West 75 feet to a point of beginning. Also that certain portion of Indianapolis Street bounded and delineated as follows; Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of Block 804 Wesley Park Tract, as per Yap thereof on file in Miscellaneous Yaps, Book 4, Page 17, Records of Orange County, California; Thence Easterly 40 feet to the South- westerly corner of Block 901 Vista Del Mar Tract Section 1 as per Yap there- of on file in Miscellaneous Yaps, Book 4, Page 3 Records of Orange County, -1- California; Thence Southerly 60 feet to the Northwesterly corner of Block 801, Vista Del liar Tract Knoll Section as per Map thereof on file in Misc- ellaneous Yaps Book 4, Page 4, records of Orange County, California; thence Westerly 40 feet to the Northeasterly corner of Block 704, of said Wesley Park Tract; thence Northerly 60 feet to the point of beginning. Section 2. RESOLVED, that the exterior boundaries of the district or lands to be affected or benefitted by said work or improvement, by closing up said portion of 16th Street are as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the Northwesterly line of Fourteenth Street in said City of Huntington Beach, with the Northeasterly line of Palm Avenue; running thence along the said Northeasterly line of Palm Avenue projected through to the Southeasterly line of Seventeenth Street; thence Northeasterly and along the Southeasterly line of Seventeenth Street to the intersection of said line with the Southerly line of Crest Avenue; thence Easterly along the Southerly line of Crest Avenue projected through and follow- ing its meander to the point of intersection of said line with the Northwesterly line of Fourteenth Street; thence Southwesterly along said last mentioned line to the point of beginning; all of said land being Lot nCR, of Tract No. 260, as per Map thereof recorded in Book 13, page 34, of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California, and being the land abutting upon and along said portion of Sixteenth Street intended to be closed, and being the property of Huntington Beach Grammar School District and that the exterior boundaries of the district or lands to be affected or benefitted by the closing up of a por- tion of Indianapolis Street are described as follows; all the land and terri- tory lying within the corporate limits of the said City of Huntington Beach, Section 3. That the closing up of said portions of streets requires no work to be done or expenditure to be made, and that no assessment is necessary. Section 4. The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said portion of Indianapolis Street intended to be closed up, -2.. and along the line of the said portion of Sixteenth Street intended to be closed up, at not more than three hundred feet in distance apart, but no less than three in all along each such portions of streets, notices of the passage of this Resolution. Said Notice shall be headed "Notice of Public Works" in letters not less than one inch in length, shall be in legible characters, state the fact of passage of the resolution, its date, and briefly, the work or imp- rovement proposed, and refer to the Resolution for further particulars. He shall also cause a notice to be published by four successive insertions in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of Huntington Beach, Section 5. RESOLVED, that the closing up of said portions of streets shall be done and carried on pursuant to an act of the Legislature of the State of California designated "Street Opening Act of 1889, Approved March 6th, 1889, As Ammended". Section 6. Notice is hereby given that any person or persons interested or objecting to the work or improvement, may make written objections to the same, or to the extent of the district effected, at any time within ten days after the time of the last publication of said notice, which objections shall be delivered to the City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach. Section 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and shall cause the sane to be published once in the Huntington Beach News, a news- paper printed, published and circulated in the said City of Huntington Beach.
