RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
DECLARING A NUISANCE TO EXIST AND
PROVIDING FOR THE ABATEMENT THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
do resolve as follows:
RESOLVED: that whereas there are growing upon
the following described streets and sidewalks and private
property within the City of Huntington Beach, Orange County,
California, weeds which bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature ,
and attain and have attained such large growth as to become
a fire menance when dry and have become dry, and are of
such growth and density as to constitute a public nuisance
and obstruct the public streets and sidewalks,
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the said condition and the
said weeds all and singular do constitute and are hereby
declared to constitute a public nuisance, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Superintendent
of streets shall post conspicuously in front of the property
on which such nuisance exists at not more than 100 feet
in distance apart, but not less than three in all, notices
headed "Notice to destroy weeds" such heading to be in
words not less than one inch in height and substantially
in the form prescribed an an Act of the Legislature of the
State of California, entitled an Act authorizing munici-
palities to declare noxious or dangerous weeds growing
upon the streets or sidewalks or upon private property
within municipalities to be a public nuisance, creating
a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or side-
walks or upon which such nuisance exists for the cost of
abating the same, approved May 26th, 1915 as amended; said
notices shall be posted at least 5 days prior to the time
of hearing objections by the City Council.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the time and place
for hearing any and all objections or protests to the pro-
posed removal of such weeds by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach is hereby fixed at a regular ad-
journed meeting of said Board to be held on Monday the
18 day of June, 1928, at the hour of 7: 30 P.M. at the City
Hall of said City of Huntington Beach and at said time and
place the said City Council will hear and consider all such
protests and objections.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of

Notice is hereby given that on the 4th day of
June, 1928, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, passed a Resolution declaring that noxious or dan-
gerous weeds were growing upon or in front of the property

in said City, and more particularly described in said Reso-
lution, and that the same constitute a public nuisance which
must be abated by the removal of said noxious or dangerous
weeds, otherwise they will be removed and the nuisance will
be abated by the municipal authorities, in which case the
cost of such removal shall be assessed upon the lots and
lands from which or in front of which such weeds are removed,
and such cost will constitute alien upon such lots or lands
until paid. Reference is hereby made to said resolution for
further particulars.
All property owners having any objection to the
proposed removal of such weeds are hereby notified to attend
a meeting of the said City Council of said City of Hunting-
ton Beach, to be held at the Council Chambers in the City
Hall of said City:-on the 18th day of June, 1928, at the
hour of 7:30 o' clock P.M. , when their objections will be
heard and given due consideration.
