RESOLUTION
N0. 614
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, that:
7kFHER.EAS the Santa Fe Springs Waste dater Dis-
posal Company has applied to the Board of Supervisors of
Orange County for a franchise to lay a pipe line along
certain public property in the County, and:
WHEREAS it has been represented that the liL:Taste
disposed through this line as proposed to be constructed
might result in injury to the beaches and tide lands in
orange County, and:
WHEREAS a committee of this City Council has
examined into the matter thoroughly and finds that this
project of the Santa Fe Springs `Taste ?Water Disposal Com-
pany does not warrant the belief that it might result in-
jurious to beaches and tide lands but seems to provide the
most satisfactory means of disposing of waste water derived
from certain oil wells situated both in Los Angeles and
Orangs Counties and that their project will apparently
prevent the danger of pollution of domestic and irrigation
sources of water supply, which might occur if the natural
water ways were used for disposal of this waste; and that
the said Company provides a responsible body against whom
action might be taken in the event of pollution of tide
lands or water supple s:
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach that they recommend to the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Orange that the said Supervisors
do grant the prayer of the Santa Fe Springs 'Waste Water Dis-
posal Company in the matter of proposed franchise for waste
water lines only, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this reso-
lution duly attested be forwarded to the said Board of
Supervisors at Santa Ana and to the President of the Santa,
Fe Springs Waste eater Disposal Company.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, ,-tlifornia at a regular adjourned meet-
ing this the kith day of October, 1928.
