RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DECLARING A.
NUISANCE TO EXIST AND PROVIDING FOR
THE ABATE1111ENT THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
do resolve as follows:
RESOLVED: that whereas there are growing upon
the following described streets and sidewalks and private
property within the City of Huntington Beach, Orange County,
California, weeds which bear seeds of a wingy or downy na-
ture , and attain and have attained such large growth as to
become a fire menance when dry and have become dry, and are
of such growth and density as to constitute a public nui-
sance and obstruct the public streets and sidewalks,
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the said condition and the
said weeds all and singular do constitute and are hereby
declared to constitute a public nuisance, and
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, that the Superintendent
of Streets shall post conspicuously in front of the pro-
perty on which such nuisance exists at not more than 100
feet in distance apart, but not less than three in all, no-
tices headed "Notice to Destroy weeds" such heading to be in
words not less than one inch in height and substantially in
the form prescribed as an Act of the Legislature of the State
of California, entitled an Act authorizing municipalities
to declare noxious or dangerous deeds growing upon the
streets or sidewalks or upon private property within munici-
palities to be a public nuisance, creating a lien upon the
property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks or upon
which such nuisance exists for the cost of abating the same,
approved 11ay 26th, 1915 as amended; said notices shall be
Posted at least 5 days prior to the time of hearing objec-
tions by the City Council.

herein .referred to are described as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the time and place for
hearing any and all objections or protests to the proposed re-
moval of such weeds by the City Council of the City of Hun-
tington Beach is hereby fixed at a regular adjourned meeting
of said Board to be held on Monday the 13 day of May, 1929
at the hour of 7t30 P. TAT. at the City Hall of said City of
Huntington Beach and at said time and place the said City Coun-
cil will hear and consider &.11 such protests and objections.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
resolution.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City

of Huntington Beach, at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 13 day of 11"ay, 1929.
