Home My WebLink AboutCity Council - 631 i RESOLUTION NO. 631 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUN- CIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DECLARING A NUISANCE TO EXIST AND PROVIDING FOR THE ABATEMENT THEREOF. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do resolve as follows: RESOLVED: That whereas there are growing upon "the following described streets and sidewalks and private pro- perty within the City of Huntington Beach, Orange County, California, weeds which bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature and attain and have attained such large growth as to become a fire menace when dry and have become dry, and are of such growth and density as to constitute a public nuisance and obstruct the public streets and sidewalks. NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED, that the said condition and the said weeds all and singular do constitute and are hereby declared to constitute a public nuisance, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Superintendent of Streets shall post conspicuously in front of the property on which such nuisance exists at not more than 100 feet in distance apart, but not less that three in all, notices headed "Notice to destroy weeds" such heading to be in words not less than one inch in height and substantially in the form prescribed as an Act of-the Legistature of the State of i • California, entitled an Act authorizing municipalities to declare noxious or dangerous heeds growing upon the streets or sidewalks or upon private property with in municipalities to declare noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon the street or sidewalks or upon private property within municipalities to be a public nuisance, creating a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks or upon which such nuisance exists for the cost of abating the same, approved May 25th, 1915 as amended; said notices shall be posted at least five days prior to the time of hearing objections by the City Council.
