RESOLUTION
NO. 639
RESOLUTION DETERMINING PUBLIC
NECESSITY AND CONVENIENCE OF
THE ACQUIRING BY PURCHASE CER-
TAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR STREET
PURPOSES IN THE CITY OF HUNT-
INGTON BEACH.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach:
Section 1. That public necessity and convenience
requires and it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach to acquire that certain real pro-
perty hereinafter described, for street purposes, and
WHEREAS the owner of said property has offered to
sell, transfer and convey to the City of Huntington Beach
for street purposes, the said real property hereinafter
described for the sum of 5,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE,- IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach that that certain real pro-
perty hereinafter de6csribed by purchased by the City of
Huntington Beach for street purposes for the sum of $5,000.00
and that said sum be and the same is hereby authorized to
be paid to the owner of said property by warrant, drawn on
the City Treasurer upon receipt by the said city of & good
and sufficient deed for said property, duly acknowledged so
as to entitle it to be recorded, together with evidence that
said owner has a good and sufficient title to said property
•
and that said deed will convey a clear title to said pro-
perty to the city of Huntington Beach for said purposes.
The owner of said property is MILLS LAND & WATER
COMPANY and said warrant shall be drawn in favor of said
owner.
Said property is described as follows, to-wit:
That certain real property situate in the City
of Huntington Beach, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows, to-wit:
A portion of the South one-half (S-J) of the
Northeast quarter (NE4) and of the North one-half
(N2) of the South-east quarter (SE4) of Section
Fourteen (14) , Township Six (6) South, Range Eleven
(11) West, S. B. B. & M. , described as follows.
Beginning at the point of intersection of the
Northeasterly line of the Coast Boulevard as des-
cribed in deed recorded In Book 259, page 213 of'
Deeds, records of Orange County, California, with
the Westerly line of that certain tract conveyed
to the City of Huntington Beach by deed recorded
in Book 261, page 41 of Deeds, records of Orange
County, California; running thence Northerly
along said Westerly line to a point thereon which is
distant 60 feet measured at right angles from said
Northeasterly line of said Coast Boulevard; running
thence North 530 061 Nest to a point on the North-

easterly line of said Coast Boulevard as described
in said deed recorded in Book 259, page 213 of
Deeds, records of Orange County, California;
running thence South-easterly, South-westerly and
South-easterly along the North-easterly line of
said Coast Boulevard as described in deed recorded
In Book 259, page 213 of Deeds records of Orange
County, California to the point of beginning.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach at their regular meeting held on
the 2nd day of February, 1931, by the following vote:

Dear Sir:-
You are hereby authorized and directed to pro-
deed with abatement of weed nuisance in accordance with the
provisions of Resolution No. 640 of the City Council, passed
and adopted on the 9th day of March at a regular adjourn&d
meeting of said douncil.
This notice in accordance with Sec. 5, Act 5197,
Municipal Corporations Act of the State of California, and
on Action of the City Council at a regular meeting held
on the 6th day of April, 1931 at which time the Council
met to receive protestso There being no protests th, Coun-
cil did by motion regularly put and carried order you to
proceed with the abatement of the nuisance.
Your attention is called to the above mentioned
Sec. 5 of Act, 5197 reading as follows:
"After final action has been taken by the Leg-
islative body on the disposition of any protests or objec-
tions, or in case no protests or objections have been re-
ceived, the legislative b6dy of the municipality, by motion
or resolution, shall order the street superintendent to
abate said nuisance by having the weeds referred to removed,
and he and his assistants or deputies are hereby expressly
authorized to enter ,uopn private property for that purpose.
Apy property owner shall have the right to have any such
weeds removed at his own expense providing same is done
prior to the arrival of the street superintendent or his
representatives to do the same. "
