A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, under and by virtue of Chapter 767 of the Stat-
utes of 1933, the Department of Public Works of the State of
California is authorized to expend annually from the State High-
way fund an amount equal to one-quarter of one cent per gallom
tax on motor vehicle fuel, after the proportionate payments
therefrom into the "Fuel Tax Enforcement Fund" and after the
proportionate refunds shall have been made, within the incor-
porated cities and freeholder charter cities, and any city and
county in the State of California, for the purposes specified
in said chapter, and in the manner provided by law, and
?FHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of said Chapt-
er 767, and in accordance with the provisions of Sections 363r
and 363y of the Political Code (chapter 326 of the Statutes of
1933), the Department of Public Works, acting by and through
the California Highway Commission, has designated as State High-
ways the following described streets in the
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, Orange County
Route 60. Through Huntington Beach. 3.5 Miles
Beginning at the west city limits of Huntington Beach on
Ocean Avenue, thence southeasterly over Ocean Avenue to the east
city limits at Hampshire Avenue, a distance of 3.5 miles, more
or less, within th corporate limits of Huntington Beach, except-
ing therefrom the following described property:
Commencing at a point on Ocean Avenue in said City of Hun-
tington Beach, County of Orange, State of California., where the
Westerly line of Twenty-third Street intersects the Pacific El-
ectric right-of-way; thence Northwesterly along the line of said
Pacific Electric right-of-way to the Northeasterly boundary line
of the City of Huntington Beach; thence Northeasterly along said
Northwesterly boundary line of said City thirty (30) feet to a
point on Ocean Avenue; thence Southeasterly on Ocean Avenue a-
long a line parallel to and thirty (30) feet equidistant from
said Pacific Electric right-of-way to the Westerly line of Twen-
ty-third Street; thence Southerly along said Westerly line of
Twenty-third Street to the Point of beginning; and further sub-
ject to the following:
All rights, title and interests of the Carr Oil Company, a
corporation, in and to said street, pursuant to Resolution 676
and Resolution 678 of the City of Huntington Beach, or the right,
title and interest of the assignee of said Carr Oil Company, a
corporation, or the City of 'Huntington Beach, or anyone holding
under or through them, and

Further excepting the right, title and interest of the
Carr Oil Company, a. corporation, in and to the minerals un-
derlying said Ocean Avenue, or any part thereof.
Route 171. Within Huntington Beach. 1.1 miles
Beginning at the intersection of Hampshire Avenue and
State Highway Route 60 near the southeast corner of the City
of Huntington Beach, thence northerly over Hampshire Avenue
along the East City Limits of Huntington Beach 0. 3 mile more
or less.
Beginning again on the east city limits of Huntington
Beach on Hampshire Avenue south of Indianapolis Street, thence
northerly over Hampshire Avenue along the east city limits and
through the City of Huntin ton Beach 0.8 mile, more or less, to
Clay Street (Summit Avenue; a total distance of 1.1 miles, more
or less, within the corporate limits of Huntington Beach, the
City limits being on the center of the highway for a part of
this distance;
which said streets are existing travelable streets in the city
of Huntington Beach, and approximately on the route of the au-
thorized state highways, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and the California,
Highway Commission have requested the City of Huntington Beach
to approve the routing hereinvefore described and to agree to
resume jurisdiction over said city streets, or portions there-
of, as may not be included in the state highways when the same
are laid out, adopted and constructed.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, acting on behalf of said city, that said
city approve, and it does hereby approve, the routing of said
State Highways, subject to the exceptions hereinbefore set forth;
That upon the relinquishment of said streets, or any por-
tion thereof to the City of Huntington Beach in the manner pro-
vided by law, said city agree, and does hereby agree, to resume
jurisdiction over said streets, or portion thereof, so relin-
quished.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Hun-
tington Beach at a regular adjourned meeting held on the 13th
day of November, 1933, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen: Marion, Talbert, Stevens, King, Conrad.
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: bone
