The City Council of the City of HuntingtonBeach, Califor-
nia do resolve as follows:
That the Mayor and City Clerk of said City be and are here-
by authorized and directed to sign and execute on behalf of the
City of Huntington Beach, the following agreement:
" Referring to agreement dated January 15th, 1934 be-
tween Huntington Beach Company and the City of Huntington Beach,
providing for the substitution of the parcel of land therein par-
ticularly described for the property set out in that certain li-
cense agreement dated April 7, 1930, between the same parties:
"The undersigned, Standard Oil Company of Calif-
ornia, the Lessee under an oil and gas lease from said Hunting-
ton Beach Company, covering the parcel of land described in said
agreement of January 15th, 1934, does hereby consent to said a-
greement subject to the following conditions:
"1. All of the covenants, terms, conditions and reser-
vations in said license agreement of April 7th, 1930 contained
shall inure to the benefit of said Standard Oil Company of Cal-
ifornia, as well ad to the benefit of Huntington Beach Company.
"2. You will not use or permit to be used the lands
described in said agreement of January 15, 1934 in such manner
as to interfere with the operations of our company upon adjoin-
ing lands .
03. You will hold our company harmless from and indem-
nify it against any claim for damage to or loss of any buildings
structures, or other property of the City of Huntington Beach,or
or others, in, on, or about the parcel of land described in said
agreement of January 15, 1-934 or injury to or death of any per-
son on or about said parcel on behalf of, or at the invitation,
permission, or sufferance of the City of Huntington Beach, whith-
er or not such injury death, damage or loss is caused by or con-
tributed to by the negligence of our company, its agents, serv-
ants and employees in its operations upon adjoining and / or ad-
jacent property, or otherwise.
"Will you kindly indicate your confirmation and accep-
tance of the foregoing by endorsement upon the attached carbon
copy of this letter. "
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, at a Special Meeting therof held on the
29 day of January, 1934.
