HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 770 0 €3 p yRESOLUTION NO. 770 fi i A RESOLUTION OF THE CITE' COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORS OF SAID CITE' A PROPOSED CHARTER FOR ADOPTION. i The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do resolve as followst Section. la That a special election shall ,be held on the i 9th day of .April, 1937 for the purpose of submitting to the electors of said. City of Huntington Beach the proposition of the adoption of a proposed charter framed by the legislative body of said City, which charter is hereinafter set out in full and designated as "Proposed. Charter of the City of Huntington Beach., California" Section '0 That at said special election there shall be i four (4) voting precincts consisting of a consolidation of the regular election: precincts last established for holing general state or county elections as follows: Consolidated voting precin. tr,"A" : comprising State and f County election precincts numbers Huntington. Beach One and Two, and the polling place thereof shall be in the Memorial Hall located on Sixth Street near the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Sixth Street in said City. Consolidated voting precinct "B" ,, comprising State and, County election precincts numbers Huntington Beach T4ree and Your, and the polling place thereof shall he at the Womants Club located on 10th Street between Orange Avenue and Magnolia Avenue. Consolidated voting precinct 004 , comprising State and County election precincts numbers Huntington Beach Five and Six, and the polling place thereof shall be the Windsor Club House on Thirteenth Street between Crest Avenue and Main Street. onsolidated voting precinct "D"" comprising State and County election precincts numbers Huntington Beach Seven and Eight, and, the polling place thereof shall be Maggie Hallioyts Store on the corner of frankfort Avenue and. Alabama Street. Section 3. That the polls shall be open between the canvassing the returns thereof and in the event said charter is adopted by the electors, the City Clerk is hereby authorized, directed and instructed to submit the sere to the State Legis- lature of the State of California for ratification. Section 9, That the City Clerk is hereby directed and instructed to pablish said proposed charter in the Huntington Beach News, a. newspaper of general circulation printed and pub- lished in the City of Huntington Beach,, on the l th day of H ch� 1937, Section 10. That said proposed charter of the City o Huntington Beach is hereto annexed and made a part hereof and is designated. as "Exhibit V � and shall be submitted to the electors at said special ei oti,on held April � 1937 for adoption under the following proposition: PROPOSITION H0 4 I HAY-L THE PROPOSED CHARTER OF THE CITE' OF HUNTINGTON YES BEACH BE ADOPTED?
