A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, FIX.
ING THE TAX RATE FOR SAID CITY OF HUNTING-
TON BEACH FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1939 - 1940.
WHEREAS, the assessed valuation of taxable property of
the City of Huntington Beach, California, as assessed by the
City Assessor and fixed by the Board of Equalization of said
City for the fiscal year 1939-1940, is $12,378,985.00,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City of Huntington Beach
finds that the amount of money necessary to be raised by tax-
ation on property of said City of Huntington Beach, as a
revenue for various departments of said City, for the current
fiscal year and to pay bonded and other indebtedness of the
City of Huntington Beach, is as follows, to-wit :
1. General Fund $ 108,960.77
2. Music and Promotion 18,568.00
3. Library 9,903•00
4. Wharf Bonds , Interest & Redemption 3,095.00
5. Sewer Bonds, Interest & Redemption 1,547.00
6. City Hall Bonds , Interest & Redemption 3,379.00

WHEREAS, a tax rate of one hundred and fifty cents
41.50) upon each one hundred dollars ($100.00) assessed
value of the property in said City as assessed by the
Assessor and equalized by the City Council, sitting as a
Board of Equalization, is sufficient to raise the amount of
money so to be necessary,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach, California, that the rate
of taxation for the said City of Huntington Beach for the
current fiscal year 1939--1.940 be fixed at one hundred and
fifty cents 31.50) upon each one hundred dollars ($100.00)
of said assessment valuation of property in said City, the
said rate to be segregated as follows;
1. General Fund

4. Wharf Bonds, Interest & Redemption 22¢
5. Sewer Bonds, Interest & Redemption 1 ¢

PASSES AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 5th day of September, 1939.

I, C. R. FURR, the duly elected, qualified and acting
City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, California, and
ex—officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
Resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
a majority of the members of said City Council at a regular
meeting of the City Council held on the 5th day of =September,
