HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 859 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEU WANES FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORENAN OR MECHANIC NEED- ED IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF BEACH FRONT PROPERTY, TO-WIT: CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE SEATS ON OCEAN BLUFF EASTERLY OF THE BEACH PAV«• I ILION IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH; WHEREAS, the C ity Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, has conducted a hearing for the purpose of establishing the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in this locality for workmen needed in the construct- ion and improvement of beach front property, to—wits The construction of concrete seats on the ocean bluff easterly of the beach pavilion in the City of Huntington Beach and has considered evidence presented. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, does hereby find, establish and determine that the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in this locality for workmen needed in the construction and improvement of beach front property, to—wit: construction of concrete seats on the ocean bluff easterly of the beach pavilion in the City of Huntington Beach and the general prevailing rate of legal holiday and over- time work, is as !®11©wffis Hourly Per Diem Rates Trade or Occupation; Per Diem Wage for Legal Holidays Wage: Rates and over-time Carpenter 8.80 1.10 13.20 Reso. 859 Cement Finisher $10,00 #1 25 $15,00 Concrete Mixer Operator 9.00 . 1 125 , 13.50 Labor (Cement) 6.00 .75 9.00 All skilled labor not mentioned above 5.00 1100 12.00 All unskilled labor not mentioned above 5.00 .625 7.50 1. The rates per hour, indicated above, are based upon the local prevailing rates per day being 9 times the above scheduled rate per hour. Hourly rates of pay, based upon S hours per day for a full day or a fractional part of day. The per diem wage of a fractional part of a day shall be the applicable rate per hour multiplied by the number of hours worked on said day other than for overtime and/or Sundays or Legal Holidays. 2. The wage rate per hour for overtime work for each of the above classifications shall be the hourly rates quoted above, multiplied by l* times the number of hours worked by employees in excess of S hours on any one calendar day other than Sundays i I and/or Legal Holidays. 3. The _wage rate per hour for work on Sundays and/or Legal Holidays shall be the applicable rate per hour, as scheduled above multiplied by 1* times the number of hours worked by employees on Sundays and/or Legal Holidays. Sundays and/or Legal Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be all Sundays, January First, February Twenty-second, May Thirtieth, July Fourth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and December Twenty- fifth. Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, at a special meeting thereof held on the 5th day of December, 1939.
