A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING A NUISANCE TO EXIST AND PROVIDING FOR THE ABATEMENT THEREOF. The City Council of the City of Huntington Bea:ehi, California, do resolve as follows: WHEREAS, there are, growing upon the following described streets and sidewalks and private property within the City of Huntington Beach, California, weeds which bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature, and which attain and have attained such large growth as to be- come a fire menace when dry, and which have become dry and are of such growth and density as to constitute a public nuisance and obstruct the public streets and sidewalks, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said condition and the said weeds, all and singular, do constitute and are hereby declared to constitute a public nuisance, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Superintendent of Streets shall post conspicuously in front of the property on which such nuisance exists, at not more than one hundred 11001 feet in distance apart, but not less than three in all, notices headed: "NOTICE TO DESTROY WEEDS" Reso. 882 such heading to be in words not less than one inch in height and substantially in the form prescribed in an Act of the Legislature of the State of California entitled: "AN ACT AUTHORIZING MUNICIPALITIES TO DECLARE OBNOXIOUS OR DANGEROUS WEEDS GROWING UPON THE STREETS OR SIDEWALKS OR UPON PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE, CREATING A LIEN UPON THE PROPERTY FRONT- ING UPON WHICH SUCH NUISANCE EXISTS FOR THE COST OF ABAT- ING THE SAME, " approved May 26, 1915, as amended, (Act No. 5197) ; said notices shall be posted at least five ( 5) days prior to the time of hearing objections by the City Council. M. of said ch.y, t the City Hall of said City of Huntington Beach, and at said time and place the said City Council will hear and consider all such protests and objections.
