HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 889 RESOLUTION NO, 999 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUN'TINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THAT THE OFFICE OF PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT GRANT A PRIORITY NUMBER TO BE USED IN SE- CURING REPAIR PARTS AND MATERIALS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN THE FUNCTIONS OF THE MUNICI- PALITY* WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach is charged with the duty of maintaining a police, fire and street department for the purpose of safe guarding health and property, together with the maintenance of some eight miles of highway supple- menting the State Highway system, and WHEREAS, due to the great number of oil wells located in and around the municipality, the operation of which re- quires that all equipment in the various departments be kept at full efficiency at all times. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED by said City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, that the Office of Production Management be urgently requested to grant to the City of Huntington Beach a priority number to be used in securing all necessary repair parts and replacements for street equipment and structures, together with such other materials as may be required, to the end that service may be maintained in the City of Huntington Beach. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the City Clerk and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council be directed to send three copies of this Resolution to the Office of Production Management at Washington, D. Co PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, at a regular adjourned meeting Reso. 889 thereof held on the 22d day of September, 1941.
