HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 893 RESOLUTION NO., 823 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA , REJECTING BIDS AND DECLARING AND DETER111124— ING THAT IN ITS OPINION CERTAIN WORK MAY BE PERFORMED MORE ECONOMICALLY BY DAY LABOR AND MATERIAL AND SUPPLIES NEEDED THEREFOR FURNISHED AT A LOWER PRICE IN OPEN MARKET. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, caused to be published in the manner and for the time required by law and advertisement , calling for sealed bids for labor, material and supplies for the construction and Improvement of Delaware Avenue in said City, and WHEREAS, the lowest and best bid which was submitted was for the sum of Forty—five Hundred Dollars ($4,500.00) for said labor, material and supplies required for said work, and WHEREAS, the estimate submitted by the City Engineer for the construction and improvement of said Delaware Avenue was for the sum of Twenty—seven Hundred Ninety—nine Dollars and Seventy—six Cents ($2799.76) , which is less than said lowest and best bid, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of four—fifths of the members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, that the work in question, to—wit: Reso* 893 The construction End iri-orovernent of Del,-17.,,,qre Avenue mp,y be -erf orm, ed riore economic,--1,7-ly 'by I.,q-'oor snd Y the material sui-,,-c1lies needed therefor� furnished at a lov,..�er -orice in the open merket.
