HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 909 RESOLUTION NO. 909 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF DEED AND COMPRO- MISE OF THREATENED LITIGA.TION. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, does hereby resolve as follows; WHEREAS, certain real property hereinafter described was sold to the State of California for the delinquent taxes due the County of Orange for 1921, on or about June 26, 1922, and said property was sold to the City of Huntington Beach, California, on the loth day of January, 1924, for delinquent taxes for the year 1923, said property being described as follows, That certain property situate in the City of Huntington Beach, County of Orange, State of California, particularly described as follows; Lots Fifty-one (51) and Fifty-two (52) in Black Nine Hundred Ten (910) of Wesley Park Section, Huntington. Beach, in the City of Huntington Beach, County ar Orange, State of California, as per map thereof recorded in Book 4, page 17 of Miscellaneous Maps, re- cords of said Orange County, and WHEREAS, the City Council was notified by the County Tax Collector that he had received a request to purchase said property at tax sale, and the said City Council did by motion duly seconded and carried, consent to said sale, and WHEREAS, thereafter, to-wit: On the 25th day of July, 1939, the Hoard of Supervisors of the County of Orange, did by resolution, regularly and duly adopted, declare their intention to sell the real property hereinbe_pre described to the high- est bidder for lawful money of the United States, and Reso 909 WHEREAS, thereafter the State Controller of the State of California, by authorization dated July 31, 1939, authorized said sale by the County 'Tax Collector of the County of Orange, and at said sale held on the loth day of October, 1939, said property was sold to George A. Green and Lottie M. green, husband and wife, and thereafter a deed was executed and delivered to said George A. Green and Lottie M. Green, husband and wife, as joint tenants with the right of survivorship, and WHEREAS, thereafter said property was duly and regular— ly assessed to said George A. Green and Lottie M. Green, husband and wife, by the City Assessor of the City of Huntington Beach,' and said parties thereafter paid the said taxes assessed thereon, and WHEREAS, George A. Green and Lottie M. Green, husband and wife , have threatened to bring an action against said City to quiet title to any interest that the City may have, and WHEREAS, the said parties and the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desire to compromise said matter with out the necessity of legal action. WHEREAS, the said George A. Green and Lottie M. Green, husband and wife, have tendered to the City of Huntington Beach the sum of Ten ( 10.00) Dollars in compromise of said threatened litigation, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunting- ton Beach, California, does resolve and declare as follows; That the City accept the offer of said George A. Green and Lottie M. Green, husband and wife, and the Mayor and City w 2 A Reso. 909 Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver to said George A. green and Lottie M. Green, husband and wife, as joint tenants with the right of survivorship, a good and sufficient Quitclaim Deed. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, held on the lot day of February, 1943. Y ATTEST.
