HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 937 1 d- RE SOLUT ION NO. ....._ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH , CALIFORNIA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE GENERAL 12UNI0IPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, APRIL 11, 1944. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, did, by resolution duly and regularly adopted at a regularly adjourned meeting of said council held on the 21st day of Febr- uary, 1944, call for and provide for the holding of the general municipal election within said City of Huntington Beach on the llth day of April, 1944, and WHEREAS, due notice of the holding of said general election has heretofore been given at the time and in the manner provided by law, NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, do hereby resolve, det- ermine and declare as follows, Section 1. (1) That the whole numbereaf votes cast in the City of Huntington Beach at said general election, including all absentee votes , is 734. (2) That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for which they were voted; the number of votes given in each precinct to eeth of' said Reso. CLEGG City Treasurer Section 3; The City Clerk is hereby directed to enter on the records of the City Council a statement of the result. of said election as required by law. - 2 .. Reso. No. 937 Section 4; The City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to each of such persons elected a Certificate of Election signed by him and duly auth9» enticated. He shall also impose the constitutional oath of office and have each of said persons subscribe there— to, whereupon they shall be inducted into the respective offices to which they have been elected. Section 5s The City Clerk shall atteat and certify the passage and adoption of this Reavlution by a majority of the votes of the members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach. _ PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of. FURR, the duly elected, qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-off icio clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority of all members of said City Council at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 17th day of April, 1944, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen: Henrickson,Grable.Hawes.Morehouse ,Talbert n rti NOES: Councilmen: Non .
