A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF- ORNIA, DECLARING A Tt I S.A NCE TO EXIST AND PROVIDING FOR THE ABATMIENT THEREOF. The City Council of the C�_t,y of Huntington Beach, California., do resolve as follows: WHEREAS, there are, growing; upon the following described streets and sidewalks and private property within the City of Huntington Beach, California , weeds which bear seeds of a. wingy and downy nature, and which attain and. have attained such large growth as to 'become a fire menace when dry, and which have become dry and are of such growth and density as to constitute a public nuisance and obstruct the public streets and sidewalks, NOW THER-EFOPE, BE IT RESOLVED , that the said, con- dition and the said weeds, all and singular, do constitute and are hereby decl:!.red to constitute a public nuisance, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Superintendent of Streets shall post conspicuously in front of the property on which such nuisance exists, at not more than one hundred (100) feet in distance apart, but not less than three in all, notices headed; "NOTICE TO DESTROY WEEDS" Q�ch heading to be in words not less than one inch in height and substantially in the form prescribed in an Act of the Legislature of the State of California. entitled: "AN ACT AUTHORIZING ITUNICIPALITIES TO DECLARE OBNOXIOUS OR DANGER- . _1_ Reso. No. 940 OILS WEEDS GROWING UPON THE STREETS OR SIDEWALKS OR UPON PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES TO BE A PUBLIC NUIS- ANCE, CREATING A LIEN UPON THE PROPERTY FRONTING UPON WhICH SUCH NUISANCE EXISTS FOR THE COST OF ABATING THE SAME, approved May 26, 1915, as amended, (Act No. 5197) ; said notices shall be posted at least five (5) days prior to the time of hearing objections by the City Council.
