RESOLUTION NO,
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTIIGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
REGULATING, AND FIXING THE FEES FOR
THE USE OF THE RECREATION HALL IN LAKE
PARK IN SAID CITY OF HUNTIN'GTON BEACH,
AND REPEALING RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH.
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, do resolve as follows•.
Section 1. That the Recreation Hall in Lake Park
in the City of Huntington Beach is a public building,
erected by and at the cost of the people of said City,
and the said Recreation Hall shall at all times be,
subject to the necessary regulations hereinafter specified,
open to the convenient use of the people of the City of
Huntington Beach.
Section Be That the City Council of said City
shall have and retain the control of said Recreation Hall,
and shall from time to time prescribe its uses, and rules
and regulations governing the same.
Section 3 That the word "person" when used in
this Resolution shall include firs:, copartnership, assoc-
iation$ society, or guild, incorporated or unincorporated.
Section 4. That the City Engineer of the City of

Huntington Beach shall be the gubtodia_h of the keys to
and personal property of said Recreation Hall, and shall
receive all applications and fees and issue all permits

for the use of said Recreationl Hall and may, in his
discretion and in the interests of the people of the
City of Huntington Beach, subject to the final decision
of the City Council, reject any application for the
use of said building.
Section. 5. That said Recreation Hall may be used
by the people of the City of Huntington Beach for any
purpose for which persons may lawfully assemble together,
provided, however, that in no wise shall said building
be used for the regular meeting place of any person or
association except by special permission of the City
Council of the City of Huntington Beach, and provided
further that said building shall not be used, and no
permit shall be issued for any function which includes
dancing on. Sunday.
Section 6. That any person desiring to use said
Recreation Hall shall first apply to the City Engineer
for a permit therefor, upon application forms to be
furnished by the City Engineer, and agree to indemnify
the City on account of any loss or damage occasioned by
the use thereof.
Section 7. That the following charges shall be
made for the use of said. Recreation Hall where the object
of the meeting is not financial gainof
A. LOCAL USERS:
1. $4.00, where no meals or lunches or
refreshments are served, and the kitchen is not included
in said permit;

expects to derive any profits from the use of said
Recreation Hall, whether or not said profits are to be
obtained by a charge for admission or by taking up a
collection and whether or not said profits or receipts
are to be used for charitable, philanthropic, civic,
ploitical or any other purpose.
Section 9. That any person, other than those
mentioned in Section 7 hereof, to whom permission may be
hereinafter given by the said City Engineer or the City
Council to use said Recreation Hall, shall pay to the
City Engineer at the time of making application, a fee of
Fifteen ( 15.da) Dollars for each day, or any part thereof,
that said, person might wish to use said Recreation Hall.
Section 14. That any person dissatisfied with
the decision of the City Engineer in rejecting any
application made to him hereunder may appeal to the
City Council from such decision, and the decision of
the City Council shall be final and conclusive.
Section 11. That the City Engineer shall at all
times keep the Recreation Hall securely locked when not
in use, and shall from time to time inspect the premises
and the personal property thereof, and shall require
the city janitor to report to him promptly any and all
dmamges and lass occasioned by the use of said building
and personal property, and shall promptly notify the
person responsible for such damage or loss to make

proper settlement therefor with the City Engineer.
Section 12. Resolution No. 799 is hereby
repealed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach, California, at the regular
meeting thereof held on the lgth day of Ua.rch, 1946.

I, C. R. FU'RR, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, and ex fficio Clerk of the City Council
of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number
of members of the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beech is five; that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority
of the members of said City Council at a regular meeting
of the City Council held on the 18th day of March, 1946.
