HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 993 RZ SO I LUTLION. lic, 617A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HU'NTINGTO BEACH; CALIF— ORNIA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS CE THE GENERJ L MiNICI AL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, APRIL 91 1946- WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, did, by resolution duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of said Council call for and provide for the holding of the general municipal election within said City of Huntington Reach on the 9th day of April, 1946, and ITIEREA , due notice of the holding of said general election has heretofore been given at the time and in the manner provided by lair, NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington. Beach, California, do hereby resolve, determine and deellare as follows: Section 1.: (a) What the vlhole number of votes cast in the City of Huntington Beach at said general election, including all absentee votes, is 1672. No. 1 Adopted Section 4# The City �;lerk. is hereby directed to enter on the records of the itv Council a statement of the result of said election as required by lava. Section 5 The City Clerk shall immediately mpake end deliver to each of such persons elected a certification of election signed by him end duly authenticated.. I'Le shall also 3 Reso® No. 993 impose the constitutional oath of office and have each of said persons subscribe thereto, whereupon they shall be inducted into the respective offices to which they have been elected. Section 6: That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to prepare or cause to be prepared a Certificate of Ratification of the said Charter Amendment and submit the same to the State Legislature for ratification. Section 7: That the City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution by a majority of the votes of the members of the City Council of the City of Egntington Beach. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, by a vote of more than a majority of all its members, at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 15th day of April, 1946.
