RESOLUTION DECLARING AN EVXRGENCY EXISTS
AND AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE IN EXCESS OF

WHEREAS, hydrostatic pressure developed within the
digestion at the Municipal Sewage Treatment Plant owned by
the City of Huntington, Beach, which plant treats the sewage
from the City of Huntington Beach, and caused a fracture of
the roof of the structure creating a condition hazardous and
detrimental to the public health and which if allowed to
remain: unrepaired would create a great public calamity, and
WHEREAS, the sewer sanitary engineer of the State
Board of Public Health has ordered t1mt work of repairing
said sewage plant proceed immediately, and
WHEREAS, the total expenditure necessary to repair
said sewage plant is estimated to be the sum of 7, 00.00.
NOW THEREFORE, The City ' Council of the City of
Huntington Beach do hereby resolve, declare and determine
that an emergency exists and that public intent and necessity
demand the immediate expenditure of public money to safeguard
life, health or property,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Huntington
Beach hereby authorize the expenditure of the said sum re-
quired by said emergency.
PASSED ADD ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beech this 7th day July, 1948.
