RESOLUTION NO . 1089
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNT INGTON BEACH CALIFORNIA,
FIXING THE TAX RATE FOR SAID CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
1949-50.

WHEREAS , the assessed valuation of the taxable
property of the City of Huntington Beach, California,
as assessed by the City Assessor and fixed by the Board
of Equalization of said City for the fiscal year 1949-
1950 is $38,269,630.00, and
WHEREAS , the City Council of said City of Huntington
Beach finds that the amount of money necessary to be raised
by taxation on property of said City of Huntington Beach, as
a revenue for various departments of said City for the current
. fiscal year and to pay bonded and other indebtedness of
the City of Huntington Beach, is as follows:
1. General Fund $ 3779070-00
2. Music and Promotion 52,909.00
3. Library 24,645.00
4. Special Recreation Fund 119670.00
5. Wharf Bonds-Inperest & Redemption 2,039.00
6. City Hall Bonds-Interest & Redemption 2,360.00

WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution No. 1050
set the tax rate for the fiscal year 1948-1949 at one
hundred and sixty cents ($1.60) per one hundred dollars
($100.00) of assessed value, which rate applies to the
unsecured roll for the fiscal year 1949-1950, and
WHEREAS , assessed value of the unsecured roll for
the fiscal year 1949-1950 as equalized by the Board of
Equalization of the City of Huntington Beach amounts to
a total of $2,864,380.00, and
WHEREAS , the balance necessary to be raised by
taxation from the secured roll for the fiscal year
1949-1950 is $424,863.00, and
WHEREAS, a tax rate of one hundred and twenty cents
($1.20) upon each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of
assessed value of the property in said City as assessed
by the assessor and equalized by the City Council sitting
as a Board of Equalization is sufficient to raise the
said amount of money.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach, California, that the
rate of taxation for said City for the fiscal year 1949-
1950 (secured roll for 1949-1950 and unsecured roll for
1950-1951) be fixed at one hundred and twenty cents ($1.20)
upon each one hundred dollars ($100.00) assessed value in
said City. The said rate shall be segregated as follows;

of Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 15th day of August, 1949•

and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach,
and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City,
do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the
City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the
affirmative vote of more than a majority of all the
members of said City Council at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 15th day of August, 1949, by the following vote:
