HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1091 RESOLUTION NO. 1091 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ENDORSING THE JOINING OF THE METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT AS A BEANS OF SUPPLYING WATER TO THE COUNTY OF (MANGE. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach resolves as follows: THAT WHEREAS, there is now in process of formation. a Water District which it is contemplated will include certain cities in Orange County, including LaHabra and other unincorporated areas, for the purpose of annexing the same to the Metropolitan Water District and securing Metropolitan Water; and WHENRAS, it is of interest to the entire Orange County that as much of the County which is in need of water be included within this District to be formed; and 'WHEREAS, it appears that the Whittier Water Company is seeking to have included by an order of the Public Utilities Commission certain unincorporated area in Orange County, California, particularly around the City of LaHabra; and 117J AS, it appears to be to the best interest for all of Orange . County to become a part of the Metropolitan 'Hater District; NOW.* THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED: That opposition is hereby expressed to the certification of any land within Orange County for Rater Service by the Public Utilities Commission either by the Whittier Water Company or anyone else at this time. �l) Resoe 1091 PASSED AND ADO.FTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th clay of September, 1949. %f U v ATTEST Wyor City Clerk STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) County of Orange ) ss City of Huntington Beach ) I, JOHN L.
