HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1105 • RESOLUTION NO. 1105 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING ALLOCATION OF COUNTY GAS TAX MONEY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF SEVENTEENTH STREET • WHEREAS , the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange, California, on August 9, 1949, adopted a resol- ution allocating not more than $110,310 from its gas tax monies as financial aid for the fiscal year 1949-50 to all the cities of said Orange County for the improvement of streets of benefit generally to the people of said County of Orange ; and WHFREASI the City of Huntington Beach is entitled to the sum of $5,328.00 under the provisions of said resolution; and WHEREAS, Seventeenth Street in the City of Huntington • Beach is classed as a major city street by the State Department of Public Works and carries a large volume of traffic to and from the City of Huntington Beach and sections northerly thereof in the County; and WHEREAS, said Seventeenth Street is in a state of disrepair, and the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desires to use the funds allocated by said County 1 Reso. 1105 to said City under the provisions of said resolution for the improvement of said Seventeenth Street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that it request, and it does hereby request, the County of Orange to a]locate the entire amount of said Cityts share of said County gas tax monies for the improvement of said Seventeenth Street, as follows: Improve Seventeenth Street from Main Street to Clay Street, including construction of grade crossing.
