• RESOLUTION NO. 1128. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF HOURLY WAGES FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN OR MECHANIC NEEDED IN THE CONSTRUCT- ION OF A PUBLIC LIBRARY BUILDING, IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach has conducted a hearing for the purpose of establishing • the general g prevailing rate of hourly wages in this locality for workmen needed in the construction of a Public Library Building in the City of Huntington Beach, and has considered evidence presented. Eight (8) hours shall constitute a day's work; it being understood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight (8) hours per day, the per diem wages shall be deemed to be that fraction of the per diem wages herein es- tablished that the number of hours of employment bears to -5- Reso. LU8 • eight (8) hours. WORKING RULES 1. Where a single shift is worked, eight (8) consecutive hours between 7 A. M. and 5 P. M. shall constitute a day's work at straight time for all workers. 2. Forty 0+0) hours between Monday 7 A. M. and Friday, 5 P. M. , shall constitute a week's work at straight time. 3. All work performed in excess of eight (8) hours per day of forty (1+0) hours per week or on Holidays and Sundays shall be paid for at the rate for overtime of the craft involved. 1+. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christ- mas. If any of the above holidays fall on Sunday, the Monday following shall be considered a legal holiday. OVERTIME RATES CEMENT FINISHERS--Time and one-half for the first three hours after the regularly constituted straight time shift, and all other overtime shall be double time. WATCHMEN--Time and one-half for all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day and for the sixth consecutive day worked; and double time for the seventh consecutive day worked. Watchmen shall also receive time and one-half for holidays except where a holiday falls on the 7th consecutive day worked, which shall be double time. CARPENTERS Double time for all overtime, except for Pile -6- Reso. 1128 Driver Men - Bridge or Dock Carpenters` on tide work where the overtime rate will be one and one-half; providing that when men are called to work outside of the regular work day they will be guaranteed' six (6)hours pay at the overtime rate. IRON WORKERS--Double time for all overtime. TEAMSTERS--Time and one-half except Sundays and Holidays which are double time, except in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties where the overtime rate is time and one-half for all overtime. I.,ABORERS--Time and one-half except Sundays and Holidays, which are double time. OPERATING ENGINEERS--Time and one-half for all overtime ex- cept Sundays and Holidays which are double time. Where Oper- ating Engineers, during any one calendar day, are working overtime on the same unit of a project on which another craft is working overtime at the double time rates then the Oper- ating Engineers on such unit of work shall also be paid at the double time rate. A unit of the project means any single building, facility, utility, or any other single structure which is independent of any other unit of the project. The operation of a. erushing plant for stock pile and the servicing, repairing, and maintenance of equipment on a project shall be at time and one-half, except in the follow- ing two instances: 1. Sundays and Holidays. 2. Where the equipment operator is repairing his -7- Reso* 1128 equipment on a unit of the project where double time is being paid in that calendar day. When the Operating Engineer is working on a project as an integral part of a crew where another craft is re- ceiving overtime pay by virtue of a holiday not specified in the Master Labor Agreement, then the Operating Engineer shall receive the same overtime rate as the other craft.
