A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA
PROPOSING TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED AND
CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY TO SAID CITY, DECLAR-
ING THAT SAID PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED
OF ITS OWN MOTION; GIVING REASONS THEREFOR-
GIVING NOTICE OF A HEARING OF SAID PROPOSED
ANNEXATION.

WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is un-
inhabited territory and is contiguous to the City of Hunting-
ton Beach, California; and
WHEREAS, the said City of Huntington Beach is
desirous of annexing said property and incorporating and in-
cluding said property within said City of Huntington Beach:
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, do resolve, determine and de-
clare as follows:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, do hereby propose to annex to
the City of Huntington Beach, California, and incorporate and
include therein the following described property:
Beginning at a point on the east line of Section 14,
T. 6 S. , R. 11 W. , S.B.B.&M. , said point being at
the intersection of said line with the line of
ordinary high tide of the Pacific Ocean; thence
Southeasterly along said line of ordinary high tide
to the intersection of said line of ordinary high
tide with the northwesterly line of the Santa Ana
Outfall Sewer Right of Way' said northwesterly line
of the Santa Ana Outfall Sewer Right of Way being
described as the northwesterly line of the strip of
land 30 ft. in width described in "Parcel -e-" in the
• complaint in that certain action in the Superior Court
of the State of California l in and for the County of

Orange, entitled '"The City of Santa Ana vs. J. N.
• Hearn, et al," being Case No. 13753 in said Court,
said strip of land 30 ft. in width being shown on
the map attached to said complaint and said North-
westerly line of the Santa Ana Outfall Sewer Right
of Way also being described in the order of possession
entitled "Order" made and entered in said action on
November 21, 192�, said "Order" being recorded in
Book 1836, page 429 , Official Records of Orange County,
California; thence South 40 degrees West three miles
more or less to a point in the Pacific Ocean said
point being three miles from the said line 2 ordinary
high tide; thence Northwesterly and parallel with the
said line of ordinary high tide and distant three
miles therefrom to 'a point, said point being South
36 degrees West three miles from the intersection of
• the east line of Section 14, T. 6 8. 1 R. 11 W. S.B.B.& M. ,
with the line of ordinary high tide of the Pa;Ific Ocean;
thence North 36 degrees East along the boundary line of
the City of Huntington Beach three miles to the point
of beginning.
Section 2: That said property is hereby designated
for the purpose of identification as the Southeast Extension
of the City of Huntington Beach.
Section 3: That the foregoing described property is
uninhabited territory and is contiguous to the City of Hunting-
ton Beach, California.
Section 4: That the proceedings for the annexation
of said territory have been initiated, of its own motion, by
• the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California,
and that said City Council is the legislative body of. said
city.
Section 5: That the reasons for the proposed
annexation are as follows:
The area sought to be annexed lies southeasterly of
the city, and the city desires to annex the same in order to
protect the submerged area within the city.
• Section 6: That notice is hereby given that on the

4th day of June,$ 1951 at the hour of 8:00 0'clock

P.M. , in the City Council Chambers of the City Hall, City of
Huntington Beach, California, is the time and place when and
where any person owning real property within said territory
proposed to be annexed and having objections to said proposed
annexation may appear before said City Council and show cause
why such territory should not be annexed.
Section 7: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
• directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be printed in
the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach, for two
successive weeks prior to the hearing set forth in Section 6
hereof.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, this 7th day of May ,
1951.
