HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1176 RESOLUTION NO.1176 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING TIIM GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF HOURLY WAGES FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORK— MAN OR MECHANIC NEEDED IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF SANITARY SM1ERS IN BLOCKS 911 AND 913, WESLEY PARK TRACT; TRACT #68; AND BLOCKS 1703, 1803 and 1903, TRACT #12, IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH. WHEREAS, the City :Council of the 'City of Huntington Beach has conducted a hearing for the purpose of establishing Sewers in Blocks 911 and 913, Wesley Park Tract; Tract #68; and Blocks 1703, 1803 and 1903, Tract #12; in the City of Hunt— ington Beach, and has considered evidence presented. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby find, establish and determine that the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in this locality for workmen needed in the construction and installa- tion of Sanitary Sewers in Blocks 911 and 913, Wesley Park Tract; Tract #68; and Blocks 1703, 1803 and 1903, Tract #12, within the City of Huntington Beach and the general prevailing rate of legal holiday and overtime work,, is as follows: Classification Hourly Wage Rate Carpenter $ 2957 Cement Mason 2.57 Laborers, General or Construction 1#91 Operators and Tenders of Pneumatic and ..lw. CEMENT MASONS - Time and one-half for the first three hours after the regularly constituted straight time shift, and all other overtime shall be double time. LAB - Time and one-half except Sundays and Holidays which are double time. OPERATING ENGINEERS - Time and one•-half for all overtime except Sundays and Holidays which are double tine. Where Operating Engineers, during any one calendar day, are working overtime on the same unit of a project on which another craft is working overtime at the double time rate, then the Operating Engineers in such unit of work shall also be paid at the double time rate• A unit of the project means any single building, facility, utility, or any other single structure which is independent of any other unit of the project. The operation of a crushing plant for stock pile and the servicing, repairing and maintenance of equipment on a project shall be at time and ones-half, except in the following two instances (1) Sundays and Holidays; (2) Where the equipment operator is repair- ing his equipment on a unit of the project where double time is being paid in that calendar day. «3- Resolution No* 1176 When the Operating Engineer is working on a project as an integral part of a crew where another craft is receiving overtime pay by virtue of a holiday not specified in the Faster Labor Agreements: then the Operating Engineer shall receive the same overtime rate as the other craft* The rates per hour indicated above are based upon the local prevailing rates per day being eight times the above scheduled rate per hour. Hourly rates of pay, based upon eight hours per day for a full day or a fractional part of a day.
