HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1179 RESOLUTION N0. 1179 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BKkCH, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE TAX RATE FOR SAID CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1952 - 1953. WHEREAS, the assessed valuation of the taxable property of the City of Huntington Beach, California, as assessed by the County Assessor and fixed by the County Board of Equalization of the County of Orange, California, for the fiscal year 1952 - 1953 is $43,653,940.00 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach finds that the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation on property in said City of Huntington Beach as a revenue for various departments of said City for the current fiscal year aiid to pay other indebtedness of the City of Huntington Beach, is as follows: 1* General Fund 338,750.00 2, Music and Promotion 39,053.00 3. Library 29,949.00 4.. Special Recreation Fund 23061.00 5. Capital Outlay Reserve Fund 56,511*85 487,624.85 WHEREAS,, the City Council by Resolution No. 1155 set the tax rate for the fiscal year 1951 - 1952 at one hundred eighteen cents ($1.18) per one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed value, which' rate applies to the unsecured roll for the fiscal year 1952--1953, and (1) Reso. 1179 WHEREAS, assessed value of the unsecured roll for the fiscal year 1952 - 1953 as equalized by the Board of Equalization of the County of Orange amounts to a total of $2,766,900.00, and WHEREAS, the balance necessary to be raised by taxation frog the secured roll for the fiscal year 1952 - 1953 is 446,690*91, and WHEREAS, a tax rate of one hundred fifteen cents ($1.15) upon each one hundred dollars ($100,00) of assessed value of the property in • said City as assessed by the County Assessor and equalized by the Board of Supervisors sitting as a Board of Equalization of the County of Orange is sufficient to raise the said amount of money. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, that the rate of taxationibbr said City for the fiscal year 1952 - 1953 (secured roll for 1952 - 1953 and unsecured roll for 1953 - 1954) be fixed at one hundred fifteen cents ($1.15) upon each one hundred dollars ($100,00) assessed value in said City. The said rate shall be segregated as follows: 1. General Fund 79.890 . 2. Music and Promotion 9,210 3. Library 7.063 4e Special Recreation Fund 5,509 5.
