A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
ESTABLISHING THE GENLRAL PREVAILING RATE OF
HOURLY WAGES FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN
OR MECHANIC NEEDED IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND
IMPROVEMENT OF A GRADE CROSSING AT THE PACIFIC
ELECTRIC RAILROAD ON SEVENTE&TH STREET BETWEEN
PINE STRE", .AND YORKTOWN STREET, IN THE CITY CF
HMTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORKTA.
SAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach has
conducted a hearing for the purpose of establishing the general
prevailing rate of hourly gages in this locality for workmen needed
in the construction and improvement of a Grade Crossing at the
Pacific Electric Railroad on Seventeenth Street between Pine Street
and Yorktown Street in the City of Huntington Beachs, and has con-
sidered evidence presented.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach does hereby find, establish and determine
that the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in this locality
for workmen needed in the construction and improvement of a Grade
Crossing at the Pacific Electric Railroad on Seventeenth Street
between Pine Street and Yorktown Street, within the City of Hunting-
ton Beach and the general prevailing rate of legal holiday and overtime
work is as follows:

OVERTIME RATES
CARPENTERS -- Double time for all overtime except for Pile Driver-
Men, Bridge or Dock Carpenters on tide work,
CEMENT FINISHERS - Time and one-half for the first three hours after
the regularly constituted straight time shift, and all
other overtime shall be double time*
WATCHMEN - Time and one-half for all time worked in excess of eight
(8) hours per day and for the sixth consecutive day
worked; and double time for the seventh consecutive day
worked, Watchmen shall also receive time and one-half
for holidays except where a holiday falls on the 7th
consecutive day workeds which shall be double time*
IABCRERS » Time and one-half except Sundays and Holidays which are
double time*
OPERATING ENGINEERS - Time and one-half for all overtime except
Sundays and Holidays which are double tine* 'Where
Operating Engineers, during any one calendar day,

are working overtime on the same unit of a project on which another
craft is working overtime at the double time rates then the Operating
Engineers on such unit of work shall also be paid at the double time
rater
A unit of the project means any single buildingp facilityp
utility, or any other single structure which is independent of any
other unit of the project„
The operation of a crushing plant for stock pile and the
servicing, repairing,, and maintenance of equipment on a project shall
be at time and one—half,, except in the following two instances.:
1. Sundays and Holidays.
2. 'Where the equipment operator is repairing his
equipment on a unit of the project where double time is being paid
in that calendar day*
When the operating engineer is working on a project of the
work as an integral part of a crew where another craft is receiving
overtime pay by virtue of a holiday not specified in the Master Labor
Agreement., then the operating engineer shall receive the same overtime
rate as the other craft*
The rates per hour indicated above are based upon the local
prevailing rates per day, being eight times the above scheduled rate
per hour. Hourly rates of pay are based upon eight hours per day for
a full day or a fractional part of a day
PASSED AND ,ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California$ at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 15th day of Septembers 1952.

that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day of September* 1952,
