A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
FIXING THE TAX RATE FOR SAID CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
1953 - 1954.
WHEREAS, the assessed valuation of the taxable prop-
erty of the City of Huntington Beach, California, as assessed

by the County Assessor and fixed by the County Board of
Equalization of the County of Orange , California, for the
fiscal year 1953 - 1954 is $39,743 ,610.00
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach finds that the amount of money necessary to be raised
by taxation on property in said City of Huntington Beach as
a revenue for various departments of said City for the cur-
rent fiscal year and to pay other indebtedness of the City
of Huntington Beach, is as follows.
1. General Fund 2822659.73
2. Music and Promotion 599615.42
3. Library 32,862.80
. 4. Special Recreation Fund 19,909.16
5. Capital Outlay Reserve Fund 621004.4.0

$457,051.51
WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution No. 1179 set
the tax rate for the fiscal year 1952-1953 at one hundred
fifteen cents ($1.15) per one hundred dollars ($100.00) of
assessed value , which rate applies to the unsecured roll for

the fiscal year 1953-1954, and

WHEREAS, assessed value of the unsecured roll for the
fiscal year 1953 - 1954 as equalized by the Board of Equali-
zation of the County of Orange amounts to a total of
2,961,360.00, and
WHEREAS, the balance necessary to be raised by tax-
ation from the secured roll for the fiscal year 1953 - 1954
is 422,995.87, and
WHEREAS, a tax rate of one hundred fifteen cents
41.15) upon each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed
value of the property in said City as assessed by the County
Assessor and equalized by the Board of Supervisors sitting as
a Board of Equalization of the County of Orange is sufficient
to raise the said amount of money.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach , California, that the rate of
taxation for said City for the fiscal year 1953 - 1954 (secured
® roll for 1953' - 1954 and unsecured roll for 1954 - 1955) be
fixed at one hundred fifteen cents ( 1.15) upon each one hun-
dred dollars ( 100.00) assessed value in said City. The said
rate shall be segregated as follows:
1. General Fund 71.1208
2. Music and Promotion 15.000
3. Library 8.2687
4. Special Recreation Fund 5.0094
5. Capital Outlay Reserve Fund 15.6011

and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and
ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five ; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th day of August
