HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1207 RESOLUTION NO. 1207 A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH TO VACATE A tp PORTION OF SEVENTEENTH STREET IN SAID CITY AND GIVING NOTICE OF A HEARING ON SAID VACATION. WHEREAS , the City of Huntington Beach has re-routed a portion of Seventeenth Street and eliminated the underpass on said street; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to vacate the said portion of Seventeenth Street as hereinafter described: NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, does resolve , determine and declare as follows: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby declare its intention to vacate a portion of Seventeenth Street within the City of Huntington Beach described as follows: A parcel of land in the City of Huntington Beach, Orange County, California, being a prolongation of Seventeenth Street, and more particularly described as follows: BEGINNIN G at a point on the Westerly right-of-way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company, said point being distant Westerly 20 feet measured at a right angle from the center line of the constructed main track of the aforesaid railroad company, and opposite E.S.929+21.43; thence North 890 021 East 40 feet to a point on the Easterly right-of-way line of the aforesaid railroad; thence South 00 58' East -1- r along said Easterly right-of-way line 50 feet to a point; thence South 890 02' West 40 feet to a point on the afore- said Westerly right-of-way line; thence North 00 581 West along the aforesaid Westerly right-of-way line 50 feet 0 the point of beginning. For further particulars reference is hereby made to a map on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city. Section 2: That notice is hereby given that the 7th day of 1953, at the hour of 8:()0 o'clock P.M. , in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach, California , is the time and place when and where a public hearing shall be held upon said resolution of in- tention to vacate said above described portion of Seven- teenth Street, at which hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation may be heard. Section 3: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution of intention to be published in the Huntington Beach News , a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach, by one insertion prior to the hearing set forth in Section 2 hereof. Section 1+: The City Council of the City of Hunting- ton Beach does hereby elect to proceed under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941 in the vacating of a portion of Seventeenth Street as above described. -2- • Section 5: The Street Superintendent is hereby authorized and directed to post notices of street vacation as required by law.
