HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1224 RESOLUTION NO. 122 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE TAX RATE FOR SAID CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 195 - 1955. WHEREAS, the assessed valuation of the taxable prop- erty of the City of Huntington Beach, California, as assessed by the County Assessor and fixed by the County Board of Equalization of the County of Orange , California, for the fiscal year 1954 - 1955 is 43,613,170.00 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach finds that the amount of money necessary to be raised • by taxation on property in said City of Huntington Beach as a revenue for various departments of said City for the cur- rent fiscal year and to pay other indebtedness of the City of Huntington Beach, is as follows: • 1. General Fund $203,437.99 2. Music and Promotion 65,419.76 3. Library 3$,048.13 4. Special Recreation Fund 24,999.07 5. Capital Outlay Reserve Fund 160,923.87 492,828.82 WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution No. 1202 set the tax rate for the fiscal year 1953-1954 at one hundred fifteen cents ( 1.15) per one hundred dollars ( 100.00) of assessed value , which rate applies to the unsecured roll for • the fiscal year 1954-1955, and (1) Reso. 1224 WHEREAS, assessed value of the unsecured roll for the fiscal year 1954 - 1955 as equalized by the Board of Equali- zation of the County of Orange amounts to a total of 3, 285,180.00, and WHEREAS, the balance necessary to be raised by tax- ation from the secured roll for the fiscal year 1954 - 1955 is 455,049.25 , and WHEREAS, a tax rate of one hundred thirteen cents ( 1.13) upon each one hundred dollars ( 100.00)- of assessed value of the property in said City as assessed by the County Assessor and equalized by the Board of Supervisors sitting as a Board of Equalization of the County of Orange is sufficient to raise the said amount of money. HOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, that the rate of taxation for said City for the fiscal year 1954 - 1955 (secured roll' for 1954 - 1955 and unsecured roll for 1955 - 1956) be fixed at one hundred thirteen cents ( 1.13) upon each one hun- dred dollars ( 100.00) assessed value in said City. The said rate shall be segregated as follows: 1. General Fund 46.646 2. Music and Promotion 15.000 3. Library $.724 4. Special Recreation Fund 5.732 5.
