A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
RECLASSIFYING CERTAIN LANDS NOW
SHOWN ON SHEET 13 OF THE DISTRICT-
ING MAP OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH, FROM AN 8•-1 ZONE TO AN
I
15-1-0 ZONE
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission ®f the City of Hunting-
ton Beach initiated proceedings for the reclassification
of certain lands hereinafter described, and which lands
are shown on Sheet 13 of the districting map of this cityt
from the S-1 Zone to the R-1-0 Zone , and did thereupon call
a hearing for the purpose of considering said reclassifi-
cation and did cause notice of said hearing to be publish-
ed and posted as required by law, and
WHEREAS, said hearing was held on the 26th day of April}
1955, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. and said hearing
was further continued by order of the Planning Commission
to 7:30 o'clock P.M. on May,,-19, 1955 and there being no
opposition to said proposal for reclassification, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, by the affirmative
vote of more than two thirds of its total voting members,
adopted its Resolution No. 36 after holding said hearing,
which Resolution No. 36 of said Commission recommends to
this Council that said lands be thus reclassified, and
submitted to the City Council said Resolution No. 36, ac-
companied by a Report of Findings, Summary of Hearing and
Recommendation of said Commission, and

WHEREAS, on the 16th day of May, 1955, this Council
called a public hearing on the said reclassification pro-
posal and did set said hearing for May 31, 1955 at the
hour of 7.45 V clock P.M. and did give notice thereof by
publishing and posting as required by law, and
WHEREAS, at said hearing this Council did consid-
er the reclassification of the land hereinafter described from
the S-1 Zone to the R-1 Zone; said lands being shown on the
Districting Map of the City of Huntington Beach, and par-
ticularly on Sheet 13 of said map as contained in the Hunt-
ington Beach Code, and being more particularly described
hereinafter, and
WHEREAS, it appears to be for the best interest of
the City of Huntington Beach and to the public necessity,
convenience and general welfare that said lands be zoned
and classified so as to permit uses other than those per-
mitted in the S-1 Zone, and that said lands be classified
• and placed in the R-1-4 Zone.
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved and declared
that the lands described as follows:
The parcel of land beginning at the in-
tersection of the southwesterly right
of-way line of Ocean Avenue with the
southerly prolongation of the westerly
right-of-way line of Eighth Street!
thence northwesterly along the south-
westerly right-of-way line of Ocean

Avenue to its intersection with the
southerly prolongation of the west

erly right-of-way line of Tenth Street
thence southerly along said southerly
prolongation of said westerly right-of-
way line of Tenth Street 112.5 feet to
r a point; thence southeasterly in a di-
rest line to a point on said southerly
prolongation of the westerly right-of-
way line of Eighth Street, said last
mentioned point being 90.5 feet south-
erly of the above described point of
beginning, measured along said south-
erly prolongation, of the westerly
right-of-way line of Eighth Street;
thence northerly along the southerly
prolongation of the westerly right-of-
way line of Eighth Street to the
point of beginning; the street right-
of way lines referred to being said
boundary lines of the respective streets
as they existed on May 12, 1955.
be and they hereby are reclassified from the S-1 Zone to
the R-1-0 Zone and the districting reap of the City of
Huntington Beach, and particularly Sheet No. 13 thereof
as contained in the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code, is
hereby amended to show such different and other classifi-
cation of said above particularly described lands.
